I have stayed at all of the all stars and enjoyed it. How does the POP compare to these. What makes them better/worse. I know that these are the values but I am sure there are many differences. Bus service, distances to parks etc. Where exactly is the POP, I believe that I saw it coming in from 535. Any help is appreciated.

We have stayed at both the All Stars and POP. We like Pop much better and are staying there again in February. Pop is obviously newer. The greatest advantage is that Pop has its own buses. As you know, buses stop at all of the All Stars. I also thought the food court was a little bit better. If you go with the refillable mugs, Pop also now offers Apple Juice, which is great if you have kids.

In additon to the pools, our kids also liked the Pop Jets and the twister game. :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Pop also has a lake - very, very nice for those early morning - jogs/walks/ or just looking at it.

I have read a lot of comments where people like Pop over All Stars. We are considering All Stars Movies because the kids are (at time of travel) 5 and almost 3.

Would the themeing of Pop appeal to that young age also? Or is Movies better?

I think for DH and I we would prefer Pop but this trip is for our kids.

We've stayed at Movies, Music, and Pop. Of course, Pop is newer. Pop has their own buses. Pop has a few more things to offer like the lake, the walkway, and do they have surrey bikes now??? Pop appears to have so much more thought put into it. I would never stay at Music over Pop. But, Movies for us was hard to beat. We liked the food court at Movies sooo much better, because of the selection. This sounds silly, but we thought it was easier to get to the buses at Movies than we did at Pop. I can't remember why, it just seemed more congested at Pop, and not because it was busier. And although Pop has plenty of Disney icons, it still can't beat Movies. The Toy Story and Dalmatian area are just awesome.

I think they looked at all of the complaints from the All Stars and "fixed" them in Pop. Tyler did a good job telling the differences in his thread about Pop. I think that he just did such a good job on Pop that I felt like I knew that resort better.

We have stayed at the AllStars and Pop. We like Pop MUCH better...our kids loved it also. They were 12,10,7,5,2,9mo when we were at Pop in April! The kids erally got a kick out of the CM's doing the Hustel in the food court evey night at 6:00pm.

I've stayed at all of the WDW resorts and as for Value, the POP is a mod/value combined and it's sooooo cool! So fun and awesome desserts! The music all over is wonderful, the theming is great and the lake and paths with the cool signs are great to jog and wander with!

Well I only stayed at the Movies and POP... I liked to food, theming, and layout better of the Movies.. but I will only stay at the POP. (No stupid despenser in the bath tub, it's own bus, cheaper tax.)

Pop is best because it's newer and has it's own buses. I think it's closest to MGM. Magic Kingdom is the farthest park away, it's a 15-20 min bus ride. The food court is the same as the other all-stars. Bus service is the main reason we prefer it. (our kids are 6 and 3, they were a little disappointed in the pool-they like the Mickey pool at Movies--but when asked if they wanted to stay at Pop next time they yelled "yes") Jeepgirl30: Stay at Pop. With kids your age, having the buses only stopping at Pop was great. Every night my husband had our 3 yr old sleeping in his arms on the way home from the parks.

it is over behind CBR. - also that really busy street it is across from WWoS - and yes it is pretty close to the Studios.

We have stayed at both & there are pros & cons to each. The All Star beds are much more comfortable & you can move the beds to make more room, but Pop beds are secured to the floor. Pop has a really nice food court & cute icons, but the parking at All Star Sports is much more convenient than POP. (We drive down from NH with a handicapped friend so parking close to the rooms is important). Pop is newer but we found that the noise level (hearing your neighbors) is higher. All Star Sports gets a lot of groups..teams, bands, etc. but I've never seen any large groups at Pop, so that can be a plus. Also a convenient thing at Pop is the little shelf below the mirror on the sink vanity...very convenient for toiletries, etc. We like both & usually go where we get the best deal. Enjoy!! :flower1:

Which rooma are closer that are not extra $? I usualy stay at ASMo and in the front of Toy Story building and thats very close to pool, food court/main building. I want to stay at POP but want to stay close.

Just when I think I've got the resort issue settled a post comes up that makes me rethink it all!

We just got back from POP and really liked it. We were on the 4th floor of the 90's bldg. and could see the EPCOT fireworks from our room...pretty cool. Being on the 4th floor (which I requested) means no one over your head. We had zero problem with noise. Noise I think is a luck thing...we stayed at the CR one time and it was more noisier than POP, so ya never know.

We have also stayed at AS Sports and it was good too. We drove to every park just for the convenience of park hopping and eating supper off grounds some evenings (saving $$$). My vote would be for POP, not for any particular reason (and we didn't have any problem with the parking and we were there during Christmas). The refillable mugs were great and my sons loved the every morning frozen cokes, which I can't remember if the AS had.

At Movies you would request either Dalmatian or Toy Story. At Pop you would request either '70s or '50s. The '50s has a pool. We stayed in Dalmatians and the '70s. I was thrilled with each area.

I would definately vote for Pop. One the TV is a bit larger than in All Stars, not that the size is an issue but it is to hubby sometimes

Also Pop has the individual soaps and shampoos and not the ******** dispenser in the bath. Pop also is newer and has a nice food court and gift shop area.

Pop also has those ICEE things, you know, frozen cokes and raspberry drinks you can get unlimited refills on.

Pop has their own busses which ran very very well and frequently when we were there. All Stars ran so slow and took quite a long time for having to deal with 3 resorts.

ASSports was cool, going to try Movies for my short vacation this year if I can make it work, but I saw movies from my sports room and I thought eh, not so hot.

I share Cathie's views. We were just there again Monday and Tuesday night. It was our 4th time at POP. The worst thing about it was our neighbors in the next room. The constant opening and closing of their door. They would let their door close by itself. After about 10 times of this happening in a 5 minute span my DD19 opened our door and glared at them. Also while in the bathroom I could hear some woman screaming at her kids. It sounded like she might be spanking them. But without being sure which room it was coming from I didn't know what to do. Was it behind our room, above it, below it, or next to us. I did yell while in there. Count to 10 and calm down. LOL My DD19 yelled back to me. I am calm. I love Pop but I always dread the parking lot.

By the way. 70's facing the courtyard is closer than 50's and closer than some of the rooms in the preferred building. I think from now on my reqyest will be for an end room.

As stated by OP any of the resorts can be noisy. We stayed at CR in November and all morning we heard kids running up and down the halls. Plus kids over us jumping around (maybe on the beds). I know Disney is for kids but when you are at the parks til 1 am the last thing you want to hear is someone making noise at 6:30am.

Let's see......Pop is obviously newer. The furniture is nicer, the main pool and pool bar are great. The outdoor bathrooms are plentiful. The kiddie pool is zero entry which is fantastic for little ones. The food court is larger and they have a cup washing station, microwave and coke floats. The resort itself is really, really neat and although ASMo is a close second, Pop is a wonderfully fun resort. Also, transportation at Pop is solely for Pop whereas the All Stars all share buses. Pop also has a lake and some of the rooms have a view which I have read is really nice. HTH!
