This is probably a silly question (I seem to ask a lot of those), but here goes anyway!

I've notice some folks have recommended a 50's bldg lake view room at POP.
Well, obviously you see the lake...but what is beyond that? Do you see the started but not yet finished construction on the other half of POP? Or is there something else beyond that? Just trees.....a highway.....what? :confused3

Depending where you are (we were in Building 2) we faced the Epcot "ball" (as my DD's call it). It was cool for them because every time we came in or out, we could see it. Otherwise, we did face the new. stalled construction, buildings.
The real advantage was we were in the back of the building and did not have any of the "pool noise" that I have read about. In fact, when my DH would go to get ice, he said the difference of noise in the hallways are pretty drastic.
Good luck!

I had requested a 4th floor lakeview room for our stay at Pop last week but I was actually glad to have gotten put in a pool view room. I wasn't too impressed with the view of the "ghost town" across the lake - during the daytime I thought it was more interesting to stand outside our room and watch the activity below plus the theming in the pool area of the 50's section is fun. At night we would just walk towards the back of our building for a great view of the fireworks at Epcot and MK...and we were by ourselves!! I was surprised more people weren't watching them.

We had a lake view room in the 70's section 3 weeks ago. We could see the top of the tower of terror looking past the construction zone. But to me the best part was every morning I saw hot air ballons flying past the lake and had ducks down below waiting for bread. :flower:

I stayed on the 4th floor of the 80s building facing the lake. You could see the building, which is all white, but not much else in that direction.

Neat!! Guess that's something we missed by not getting the lakeview room we requested. :sad2:
