Taking a quick trip with my DS (6). I am only allocating a certain amount of $$$ to be spent. Would you: 1. Stay at POP with a rental car - which I tend to love as I like to control my destiny and have never been to Disney without a rental car; or 2. Stay at POFQ using ME.

I have never stayed at POP and am a little nervous about it, but I have stayed at POFQ and know how beautiful it is. I just hate the thought of giving up the car. Rental car rates are outrageous for my time period (either early November or early December) so I can't have it both ways.

Stay at Pop you and your DS will love it. I felt that way before we stayed there. It was only deluxes before that now I won't spend the money for a deluxe. I'd rather give it back to the mouse on all of the other things we buy. Maine :firefight

Hmmmm... since you've been to POFQ... I guess you can try POP. I have stayed at both and I really much prefer POFQ. I like the fact that is has fridge in the room and the ceiling fan is nice to have. And it does gives you a little bit more room at POFQ and it has that curtain divider at the sink area, so this gives you a little bit more privacy when you are at the sink area. POP does not have the pool slide, but it has that Goofy POP jet and a kiddie pool behind the "Hippy Dippy" pool.

POFQ is nice cause you have a choice to whether take the boat to DTD or use the bus. You can also use POR ammenities.

Your DS 6 might enjoy the atmophere at POP. It is very vibrant and fun to look at. I like POP too. But if I have a choice.. I would choose POFQ. I hope this helps.

I think a 6 year old would enjoy Pop more. :teeth:

We have always rented a car, but now with ME we do NOT plan to. Instead we plan to cab it when we don't want to use Disney transportation. We added up the trips we usually take - one to the golf course and now they have free cabs for that, trips to resorts for meals and we have three planned for that. I hear cabs are from $8 to $12 per trip, even if we take three for unexpected things, that is just six trips. At $10 average per trip that is only $60! Way much less than a rental car. Go to POFQ and cab it!

I'd think that a 6 year old and trying to save $$ would make POP the right choice.

Heck, to save even more money, stay at POP and use ME. My DD and I did that in May and it was fantastic.

As an adult, POFQ wins hands down. But for the kids, our DD thought it was the best thing in the world (she is 5).

POP it is . . . maybe . . . kind of. Oh what the heck. I've never tried POP, might as well. Why do we adults always sacrifice for our little angels. :sunny:

Don't look at it as a sacrifice. I've stayed at both POR and Pop, and I actually prefer Pop! :)

I found Pop to be similar to FQ. Sort of a Moderate lite resort IMO. Since FQ no longer has a sit down restaurant and the marina was consolidated at Riverside if boating is not a major concern on your trip except for more landscaping and larger rooms at FQ Pop's a great value.
