Pop Ups and Parasites! - Help Me!!!!

Our computer is acting up. We're getting an insane amount of pop ups and when I run Spy Hunter, I get a zillion parasites - even if I run it over and over and over.

We have a pop up blocker installed, but that's not helping. I also can't access the "Get More" smilies on the DIS all of a sudden.

Computer experts - what do I do????

Also, a pop-up blocker could prevent the smilie box from popping up.

I was having the same problem until my son erased everything on the computer and re-installed it. I have heard that it is something to do with your cookies retaining all of the pop-up information, but I don't know how accurate that is. My computer works great now.

it's spyware and adware. Its gotten so bad that they sometimes load it on your computer without your permission now.

I wish we could start a lobby against these things. It's allows much easier spreading of virus' and cause severe problems with any computer connection to the net.

you need to figure out how to turn it off.

First try ctrl-alt-del. This will open up a task window. Try seeing what you can actually shut off. Likely one of them is the program that is causing the popups.

Now you will have to delete the program. The problem with that is that they sometimes hide. You will probably need adaware or something else to delete but even they might not get it.

I have installed a new browser called avantbrowser.com. It has a pop-up blocker on it. Works like a charm.
See if it will help you. Just go to the site and download it.

Another browser to try is Mozilla Firefox. It's free, it's got it's own pop-up stopper and it's much faster and more stable than Explorer. Just Google Mozilla and you'll find it.
