My car is a '06 chrysler pacifica......DH has a '06 dodge ram(not sure size, but not 4X4).........anyway, I looked up my tow capacity and it says 3500-we do not have a hitch yet, so we can attach whatever is correct....I know the 3500 is the weight fully loaded with all our "stuff".........so any recommendations for a pop up for this car? We could always tow with the dodge-but we will not take it for long trips ( as in disney) since the gas would kill us! BTW, we are a family of 5 with a dog in our near future:)

My wife loves her Jayco jayseries 1007 she uses it for her and the kids and it is light at only 1600 lbs base and 2200 loaded with all the LP tanks and goodies she packs into it. Her van is rated for 3500 also so this was a no brainer for her as it is light enough to tow and well under the rating even with her and the kids and all the things she needs along. She looked at the fleetwoods and had heard some real horror stories from some fleetwood owners about terrible roofs and other such items and everyone she had talked to raved about the Jayco brand so she went with that.

I don't own a pop-up but I do have a Jayco trailer - the Kiwi 23B (2002). We are trading it in on a Jayco motorhome this Saturday. Jayco makes a great product and thier popups have a very good reputation. Just make sure that when you have a hitch added to your vehicle, you have someone who specializes in it (like the RV dealer) install it.

The truck and the van will likely get the same gas mileage while towing. This is because the truck will work less hard. Also, with its longer wheelbase, it should be more safe towing that distance. Longer wheelbases make for more stable towing.
