Pop Up Killer Programs!!!!!

Anyone know of a good pop up killer program that won't kill links when you click on them from an e-mail or a webpage you are already on?

I tried Pop Up dummy, but I could never access Dis from e-mail even when I put it on the accept list.

Also won't let gator fill in any of my passwords.

Please tell me there is a program out there.

I don't remember which one I'm using at home, it works pretty good. I'll check back here tonight to post what I use.

(oh, and don't use Gator, it's been known to be spyware )

I use No Ads...it comes with a list of known pop-ups and then any other pop-ups that pop up you can just add it to the list. Then if there's a webpage you're trying to reach that one come up and you don't think you added it to the list, you have the option of going through the list to see if it's on there and delete it. It's also easy to turn off, so if all else fails you just right-click and check disable and it won't block pop-ups.

I use the POP-UP STOPPER . It's provided free of charge by ATT to all of its ISP users, but the basic download is only $19.95 for others. It can be easily disabled with a flic of your control button or you can specify any sites which should be accepted. I've been highly pleased, and I'm hard to please (LOL)!!!!

Do any of these work on those pop-up instant messge things? The ones in the grey boxes that will pop up no matter what you're doing (working in Word, Excel, on the DIS boards)? I have DSL. Pop up ads when I'm visiting a web site don't annoy me nearly as much as these. Diana

We have "Pop Up Killer" We downloaded it from the internet somewhere. It allows passwords to be saved, just no pop ups. We have to remember to disable it for sites like "orbitz" because it will actually CLOSE Internet Explorer because there are so many pop-ups on Orbitz.

Its really good... and FREE

Dancind, are you talking about the ones that look like system messages but when you try to click the x to close them it ends up taking you to a webpage? Those really get on my nerves! Anyway, NoAds will stop those too.

SSB hates those darn things... and heaven forbid you stay logged in overnight... there can 20 or 30 of them to kill... ack!!!

I downloaded the Google toolbar and it has a pop up stopper on it. Its free and has really cut down on my pop ups.
Pete posted a thread about it last week. If I find it I'll post it here.

Those "Instant Message" type pop ups in Windows can be stopped just by disabling your Windows Messenger service.

That is a tool that is meant for Administrators to be able to send messages to all the users on the network such as

"They Network will be brought down in 5 minutes so everybody SAVE."

If you don't have a use for it - just disable it.
