Hi all -

I see there is an "official point A to point B" thread above, but I can't seem to search within that thread, and there are a billion posts to wade through.

Anyway, my family and I are visiting this summer, and expecting to arrive to ORD late afternoon, meaning probably a 5:30ish arrival to Pop. We are considering Beaches and Cream for "dinner" that night, kicking off our vacation with ice cream supper.

Is it difficult to make our way from Pop to Beach Club? What is the best way?

Is it then easy to get to the Boardwalk for the evening?

Thanks,
Jennifer :)

Just to be polite...ORD is the 3 letter airport code for Chicago (OHare). MCO is the the 3 letter code for Orlando, FL. :dance3:

The easiest way to get from Pop to Beach Club is to take a cab.

If you want to use Disney transportation, you could take a bus to any park and then transfer to the Beach Club bus from there. You could take a bus from Pop to Epcot and then walk through Epcot, but it's a long walk and you'd need to use a park admission.

I would not take a bus to DTD and then transfer there. The bus service from DTD to the Epcot resorts is awful. (That is my own personal experience, but we've stayed at BWI several times and have never had good experiences with the DTD busses. Often end up getting a cab.)

The Boardwalk is just across the lake from Beach Club, so you'll be well positioned for an evening at the BW after ice cream.

The best way, using Disney transportation, is to take the bus to DHS and then walk or take the boat to the Beach Club. Give yourself 90 minutes, although it shouldn't take nearly that long.

A cab will run you about $10. The two resorts are very close to each other....about a 5 min ride.

Just a word of caution....Beaches and Cream can get very crowded. So, be prepared to either wait awhile or just go elsewhere.
Getting to Boardwalk from BC is very easy. Exit the BC, onto the walkway by the lake. Go to the left, go up the incline, take a right and cross over the bridge, go down the incline and you're there. Takes about 8 mins to walk.

Thanks for the heads up - maybe not such a great plan after all?

Beaches & Cream is a very small restaurant and it now takes reservations so depending on how busy it is when you go, I'm not sure if they can accommodate walk ups. Since all dining reservations now require a credit card guarantee, many hesitate to make a dining res on arrival day.

The Fountain at the Dolphin and Ghirardelli in DTD have very good ice cream sundaes and treats. L'artisan des Glaces in the France pavillion has mainly cones and cups. None of these require reservations.

Hi, I would vote to head to DTD and Ghirardelli :mickeybar DELICIOUS!! You will also have afew QS options if you are looking for some food too. And lots going on in DTD on a Summer night or just stroll around and relax. :) Joan

Thanks. The potential for travel delays is what is holding me back from a reservation. Maybe DTD is a better choice. I just thought the Boardwalk sounded fun for something different. I appreciate your input!!

Yeah, sounding like DTD is a better option... Thanks much!!
