"Pop Tarts?"

Did anyone else besides me get a craving for Pop Tarts this afternoon thanks to this thread?? Frosted strawberry here :rolleyes1.

I'll never forget introducing my Scandinavian relatives to peanut butter. They spit it out like it was arsenic! Baked Beans also didn't go over too well. But when I was visiting over there, I refused the blood bread (don't ask!) and didn't appreciate the fish heads, so to each his own. Btw, Pop Tarts are a good thing!

I love Pop Tarts, but only the frosted ones and I never toast them.

I haven't had Pop Tarts since I was a kid. I didn't think they were very good.
Have they improved them in the past 40 years?

My DBro offered a pop-tart to my DSIL (his wife) one time and he did not toast it (on purpose)....She spit it out and said she couldn't eat it becasue it was RAW. I laughed so hard, who knew pop-tarts could be raw.

:rotfl: I never toast mine. DW likes to toast the apple cinnamon ones. Now they say you should freeze them and eat them frozen. In fact, they have a contest going where the label changes colors when you freeze them and if it turns red, you win a prize.

Patti, you're great with pop culture nostalgia--remember these? :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Did you know that today is National Share a POP TART with someone you love day!?!?!

the creepy thing about that is that i didnt have anything to take for lunch today so i grabbed a pack of pop tarts, but i didn't want them both so i shared one with my friend veronica! :p
I celebrated without knowing :goodvibes

I'm not surprised that Pop-Tarts haven't made it to Europe. They have incredible bakeries over there and I wonder if Pop-Tarts might just be a little too..um, plain for lack of a better word?

Their loss though, I love the silly things!

Ok, thanks a lot :rotfl2: I hardly ever eat Pop Tarts. I actually bought some about 3 weeks ago when they were BOGO and never even opened the box yet (my fiance eats them all the time.) However, I had read this thread today, and when I just went to the kitchen for a snack, guess what I gravitated toward....You got it, my chocolate chip pop tarts!!!!!

I guess Mickey Mouse wanted one too. I only had 1 two pack left and my toaster kept one of them. I finally managed to get it out but it was unedible. lol

Really? That can't be all that great for your teeth! I might have to try that though. I prefer my Chocolate Fudge PopTarts toasted though. The raspberry ones are pretty good. The kids love the chocolate chip ones for after school snacks.

Yes I do! I really think if they brought those back now, they'd go over very well. The carb craze is pretty much over, "danish" sounds so international, and we're always in a rush. Yes, they need to bring these back. :teeth:

Wow, what a coincidence. I didn't have time to get lunch today so I dug in my drawer and pulled out a strawberry poptart (no frosting). A couple of co-workers who saw me with my meager lunch offered to share theirs with me. So I ended up having poptarts, pita with spinach spread, and a bit of sushi for lunch. All-in-all a pretty good lunch.

By the way, is the strawberry milkshake poptart a lot better frozen? I have a box, tried one not frozen, and thought the center was a little too soft.

My friend from Canada had never had a Butterfinger.

Wow! Butterfingers are also something you'd think were pretty international.

As someone else said, Europeans don't have peanut butter in most places, as I've learned from our exchange student and one of the French exchange students at DD's school. They fall in love with it here and want their "exchange families" to send it to them when they go back.

Who knew? ;)
