POP stay with 2 reservations

I just added a day to my free dining reservation that starts next Sunday. Because flights were soooo much cheaper Saturday night, we decided to fly in a day early. Originally I got a room off property, then decided to book at POP so we wouldn't need to move, especially since we are already switching hotels after 4 nights.

I called Disney to ask them to connect the two reservations, and understand that it is not guaranteed. Has anyone had trouble with not getting the same room in the past? I would be kind of annoyed because I am paying $100 extra to move to POP to not have to pack up and leave. Guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed! TIA!

I have added a day on a couple of times and had to move rooms each time, some people have had luck in not having to move.

Did they come pick up your bags and store them for you until check in later in the day?

I should probably just have a separate bag just in case for the first night, and maybe leave everything else in the car if we happen to not get the same room.

You have to call luggage assistance, but yes, they will come pick up your bags and keep them for you until your second room is ready. Hopefully you won't need to do that, though! It would be nice to keep the same room instead of packing up and moving after one night. We'll have to do it next month at CR. The room type I wanted was only available for the second two nights so we're in a different room category the first night. We'll have to move for sure.

Thanks, hoping to be able to stay in the same room. It is the same category so that should help. I did mention that it is our 30th anniversary to maybe get them to put some pixie dust on the request!

You really need to speak with the front desk CM when you arrive at Pop for your first stay. Let them know you have a second reservation and would like to stay in the same room. The reservation agents have zero control over what room/s you are assigned to. I would recommend going down to the front desk early in the morning after your first night and see if they were able to keep you in the same room.

I'm currently at pop and was originally going to move to pofq next week. But decided that I liked the refurb pop room so much that I'd rather stay on than move to pofq (plus found a great ap rate for pop). So I called to change my pofq reservation to a pop reservation, then stopped by the front desk at pop. Explained that I now had a continuing reservation at pop and really wanted to keep the same room if possible (both standard rooms). The cm checked on her system and also called another cm somewhere and apparently they've jigged it so that I can stay in the room! Fingers crossed...

We had your same situation last week and we were able to stay in the same room. I just talked to the front desk when we arrived for our first night.

Good to know. If it doesn't happen we will be okay. It would just be so nice to not have to move. That way we can get up bright and early and head to the parks!
