What would be a good room request to faxt to POP. We are staying 8/28 to 9/1. A couple of years ago we stayed in the Bowling Pin Building (not sure what Bldg.) and we walked down the stairs in the Bowling Pin and was at the Food Court...literally a 2 minute walk!!!

Should I make a request or leave it be to see if we get an upgrade? When I called about adding a day at POP there were no rooms left, but I was offered an upgrade (for something like $247 per night) at Caribbean Beach. :confused3 It would have more than DOUBLED my bill, so I declined. :(

Perhaps if I DON'T request a room I might get an upgrade??? :confused3

Any thoughts O'Wise Disers:worship: :worship: :worship: ???

Don't bother with a fax, just call back now and have your request noted on your reservation. Don't worry about stating a particular room, a request for "the bowling pin building" will work just fine.

Also, make your request know again at check in. They will usually try to accommodate you.

From the sound of it, you were in Bldg 1 in the 50's section. It is very close to the main bldg. A lot of that building is considered preferred now.
I would just call and put in your requests now.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an upgrade. Doesn't happen often...from what I understand it happened last year due to a computer issue. I'm pretty sure Disney isn't going to let that happen again.

I've been in bldg 1, bldg 2 of 50's, in bldg 4 of 60s and in the 80's bldg. They were all good locations. I'll be in a preferred room in early Sept..that will be a first for us. I usually do standard rooms at POP but felt like a change this time around.

We too like the 50's buildings. We always request where we would like to stay. They'll tell you there's no guarantee but we've always lucked out. We're going the end of the month and I called and made our request this past weekend.

We're going to stay at Pop Century in November. Can someone explain what the different buildings look like? I'm guessing since they're called 70's 80's 90's that they are decorated with stuff from that decade, but is it Disney stuff, or United States stuff, or what? I grew up in the 70-80's, but really am not fond of most of the music and movies from 80's 90s does that mean I'd probably not enjoy those buildings? How easy is it to get one of the other buildings so I'll not be hearing music I don't like while walking around the hotel?
