POP Room Request/pool noise question

Okay, I want to call and put a request on my res. I plan to repeat this info when I do online check in.

I am looking for a refurbished room. While I want to be close to a pool, I fear that being poolside would be noisy. I don't want to look at a parking lot.

Here is what I am thinking of asking for.

1. Refurbished Room
2. 50's or 60's
3. A lake/fireworks view

I don't think I will mention the pool proximity part since all of the 60's pool side is preferred.

Does this sound good?

All I know is the kids want to swim and DH will want to nap and I don't want to be too far from Classic Hall. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Maybe I should ask for certain buildings instead or would that be too much? If I asked for 4, it would be a lake view close to a pool, but not poolside.

Too much.

Two months from now, all rooms should be refurbished. Skip.

Specific building too specific. Skip.

Facing the fireworks/lake. Sufficient.

Although - how many nights do you expect to be back at the resort prior to fireworks being set off, standing at the railing, viewing what few distant fireworks you would be able to see?

I agree with most of what Kaytie said and will double and triple this comment.

The fireworks viewing from the fourth floor of certain buildings at Pop can be nice I suppose but I wanna stress it is over rated.. You can't see all the fireworks and depending on the foliage thickness and the time of year, you may not see very much.

Just something to keep in mind.

Okay, one more little change :teeth:
1. 50's or 60's
2. Facing the lake

I know it SOUNDS the same - but there've been reports of DISers being told there's no such thing as a lake view at Pop Century... even no such thing as a lake!! Now, granted, nothing recent, but still... :)

Know for sure? No. But they started with the 70's and are moving up; somebody recently posted the top floor of the 90's is closed off. It seems likely they'll move over to the 50's next, and end with the 60's. Check the "Pop being refurbished!" thread - see when it started to get an idea how fast the work is getting done.
