I have stayed at Pop Century a few times but I need help with room request. Have preferred room, would like to be very close to food court and buses. I was thinking 60's but am afraid it might be too noisy. It doesn't have to be super quiet but don't want to hear people yelling at the pool at 11 pm. I just want to be close enough to run to food court for coffee and get to bus stop without a long walk. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Have I got a place for you! Building 10 in the 70s. I had my first POP stay earlier this year and had room 0161: bldg 10, ground floor, facing the courtyard at the end of the bldg closest to the main bldg, super convenient to food court and buses. There is no pool in the 70s section. I really had no noise issues. Loved the location.

When are you going? They should be starting Construction / room refurbs in the 70s very soon.

Have preferred room,
Preferred room will be
  • building 10, rooms 37-72, all floors
  • building 6, rooms 1-12, all floors
  • building 5, rooms 37-60, all floors
  • building 4, rooms 13-36, all floors
  • building 1, rooms 61-72, all floors
Preferred Pool View, which it doesn't sound like you booked, are all and only the 60s rooms facing the pool.
Pop also has Standard and Standard Pool View rooms.
As long as you didn't book Preferred Pool View, it would be reasonable to expect you will not get a pool noise room.

We had that preferred pool room for an add in night and didn't have pool noise.. but hearing the noise and conversation from the adjoining room.. that's another story lol. Paper thin walls!

Ask for lakeview (standard) in Building 4, 5 or 6. You'll be close to the main building and buses and on the quiet side of the resort.

I agree with this. Lakeview is the best, so quiet. I like 60's lakeview....70's is my second choice. And yes, its quite close to main building.

So, just to be clear, downgrade your reservation now. Don't add it as a request, orwait until you arrive. Senseless to overpay for a location you don't want.

All preferred rooms are within 500yds of Classic Hall.

I've stayed 60's preferred twice and it was not at all noisy (well not any worse than any other place). You are not facing the pool unless you have book' preferred pool view'. Last trip we stayed in 50's building #1 (standard) and didn't think it was really any further. Have also stayed in 70's preferred and we did feel like it was not as close at we thought. That was mainly due to where the walking path is.

The "preferred" room category is not worth it IMO unless you are staying on the ground floor. And that's a maybe, depending on where the walkway is outside your door.

Every building is a T shape with the elevator in the middle. If you use the elevator, you're going to walk to the bus stop/main building from the same spot whether you are in a standard or preferred room.

LOL.....I've said the exact same thing. I've only had preferred because it was all that was available when I booked.
