Going to POP for the first time in August. We really want a Preferred room because the 60’s buildings appeal most to us, however, there are none available. Are all Preferred rooms at POP in the 60’s building? Are there any rooms in 60’s that are not Preferred?

We definitely don’t want to be in the area where the Soccer Player icons are. Can someone please explain where they are

The soccer players are in the 70s. In between the big Big Wheel and the big Mickey phone.

I don't believe that an entire building is designated as all preferred rooms. Somewhere, there is a map that lists the preferred locations. Just can't seem to find it.

Not all the rooms in 60's are considered preferred anymore. There are preferred rooms in 50's and 70's as well, but not entire buildings.

Never been to POP before. If you're in the back of a building on the first floor, are there open areas in the buildings you can cut through to get to pools, food court, etc., or do you have to walk all the way around a building as it appears on the Pop map?

You can get a lot of info out of the Pop FAQ thread on this forum:

You’ll find where the preferred rooms are on page 1, and there’s a link to a map that shows them too.

I’ve never been to Pop, but reading that page and looking at the map, it doesn’t seem like any one building is all preferred.

Yes-there are cut throughs the buildings. After staying in the 50's a few weeks ago, if there were any rooms in the 60's (standard) I would try for that.

50's were fine, but we were poolside (requested lakeside-I know, room requests are not guaranteed) 4th floor (great for no running feet above us, plus there are elevators, which I didn't know for some reason). ANYWAY-I bought earplugs after the first night because the yelling and screaming from the pool went on until midnight. (and the subsequent running/yelling kids going to their rooms until 12:30) My kids crashed-so it didn't bother them, but I don't sleep as easily or soundly as them.

Long answer to try to get anywhere 60's if possible:thumbsup2

I am a light sleeper too. I requested 70"s lakeside...I read on the boards that it is a good location. Quiet, but not too far away.

To date I've been in 50's, bldg 2, third floor, way to the back of the bldg, about as far out as you can get and still be on property. It was a great room. Then I had 50's again, but bldg 1, ground level, towards the parking lot. It is now considered a preferred room. It was also fine. Then, I got put in 80's, facing the parking lot/end of lake, ground level, at the end of the bldg. It was a great room as well...I was really surprised. By cutting through the other bldgs we made it to the food court quite quickly..same with the buses.
Then, in January, I had my favorite room to date....60's, bldg 4. room 4441. It was wonderful..top floor, facing the lake. So quiet, and it was a quick walk to the food court and bus stops.
I have a preferred room booked for Sept....can't wait to see what that ends up as. Just hope it's not poolside. That will make it noisy. But, it will be quicker to the pool in any event.

There are walkways you can take. The elevators, ice and vending machines are in the middle of the buildings. Another stairwell is also there.

Disney wants you to get to the food court. More money spent.
