I am going to call and make my reservations for next June 2007 and I want to request a rooms that connect for my wife and kids. Is it possible to get one room with a king bed and a connecting room with 2 double beds for the kids?

Thanks
Darryl

Not necessarily (unless they've changed the bed configuration in a number of rooms).
Some connecting rooms are Double/Double; some connecting rooms are Double/King - and some of those kings are handicap-accessible rooms.
Also, the OP needs to specify "connecting", as "adjoining" is also a hotel room term and simply means rooms that are next to or near each other.

I don't know if pop is different then ASM. The last time we were there we had connecting rooms with 2 double beds in each. I'd call the resort and ask.

We had adjoining rooms at the Pop last June with the double/double configuration.

Yes all connecting rooms are 1 king and 1 double that comes direct from POP.

I think you were misinformed or you misunderstood.
What the CM should have told you is.
Connecting rooms are either
!.Double -doubles connecting to double -doubles. OR
2 Kings connecting to double-doubless.
There are no king rooms which connect to other King rooms.

Info from this site:
http://www.1southerntravel.com/Disney_All_Star_Movies_Resort.htm

Indicates that each of the All Star Movies resorts only has:

Accommodations include:
74 king-sized beds
1,846 double-double beds
1,344 non-smoking rooms
96 disabled-accessible rooms

All Star Music has:

Accommodations include:

96 king-sized beds
1,824 double-double beds
1,344 non-smoking rooms
96 disabled-accessible rooms.

All Star Sports has:

Accommodations include:

96 king-sized beds
1,824 double-double beds
1,344 non-smoking rooms
96 disabled-accessible rooms

Most of the King rooms are HA and will go to Disabled guests first.

Not sure how many Pop has. You can request one but don't plan on getting one.

Have fun at Disney!

When we had connecting rooms there were double beds in each room. We would have preferred kings but were told they didn't have that configuration.

That isn't true. We had connecting rooms in the 50s section and both rooms had double beds. We were happy with the arrangement.

Not all connecting rooms at POP are like this. Last year we stayed there and had doubles in both rooms.

I called Pop direct ladst month to ask if we could have King and 2 doubles in aconnecting was told that is the way they allare. So either Pop employees dont know and tell you anything or thats right.

There are definately more dbl/dbl connections but there are also a few king/dbl....I go with the CM's tell you anythimg to get you off the phone.

:thanks: :rose: Well I will be calling or my TA will as we really want King/double double and i really dont want handicapped even if some of my family might say I am!!!I can be persistant its the blue blood in my English veins! Thanks for all the input am learning so much.

We stayed at POP in January with connecting rooms. They both had doubles. I think that some are doubles and some are king and doubles. Make sure when your TA calls that you request King and Doubles.

And keep in mind that it IS merely a request. If you look at the layout in the link upthread, and read the accompanying text, there are only five of the ten buildings that have non-accessible king-bed rooms, and only six such rooms in each of those buildings. That's just the teensiest bit over one percent of the Pop rooms.

Sorry if this is too big but I can't figure out sizing. Anyhoo...If you notice this tells you where certain rooms are and what is connecting to what. The only problem is I don't know how accurate this is. When we stayed at POP in January we were in building 6 in the 70's section and our exact connecting rooms were 6353 & 6352. Which according to this it's building 6, 3rd, floor rooms 53 & 52. That part was correct. The incorrect part is according to this layout we should have gotten King Bed/2 doubles with our connecting rooms. We didn't have a King bed at all we had two double double rooms. So maybe when you call you should verify. I understand that it is a request but knowing for a fact that you are guaranteed connecting rooms if you are all in the same immediate family then who knows maybe you will get king/2 doubles if asked.

There are 72 pairs of connecting rooms per building. Of those 22 pairs are for kings, unless they have changes those. And the rest are for double/double layouts. Half of the building have king handicapped and half don't. So chances are fairly good, depending on time of year, that you should get what you request.
