Hi All,

I am planning a trip to WDW for the end of Feb. Just me and the kiddos as DH has to work. We have been down there twice and stayed off-site at a condo so this will be our first time on-site so please forgive my ignorance. :o Anyway, I have a couple of questions. First . . . should I make the reservation at rack rate and then hope that a general code becomes available? They will change the reservation at that time if one becomes available I am assuming. The second question is . . . Which building at Pop would you recommend? I am hoping to be close to the food court and the bus area since we won't be renting a car. Thanks everyone!

Hi Tinkim!

Here's what I usually do. I make my reservation with a AAA rate (I'm a member) to start with a lower rate as I refuse to pay rack rate. Then when the codes come out, I call CRO and try to get it applied - usually I'm successful since I travel at off-peak time. If not, I have my AAA rate to fall back on.

As far as areas, I've heard the 50s and 70s are the best without paying preferred. I was in the 90s last time which wasn't too bad. Took a short cut across the parking lot to get ot the food court and busses and had the pool right outside our room.

HTH!!! :teeth:

we just came back a few weeks ago and LOVED the location of 50's A (or 1) building... it was great! close to pool (bowling pin) and laundry... close also to food court/gift store/arcade... not a far walk to the bus stop nor the hippie dippie pool... i would be happy w/that location again :)

We stayed at POP the beginning of Feb 04. Simply LOVED it. I'm a single mom so always travel alone with DD anyway. We stayed in 70s backside (6337) I LOVED it. its facing the lake and its kind of quiet back there.

The walk to Food Court / Pool / Buses was really nothing. To get to the pool we just walked behind the 70s and cut through under Baloo in the 60s to get to the pool. For the Food Court we just headed out the middle of the 70s past Goofy and went in there. Then at night we'd get off the bus and skirt the 70s parking lot and head through under the big wheel to our room. It was always really easy!

Enjoy your trip. I loved POP and am going to suggest it when my mom plans the Pre Kindergarten trip for my DD. We are staying at ASMo this time.. just b/c I want to try it out and its only 2 days. So if I dont like it .. its not like I'm there forever.

ENJOY!
