Pop preferred, worth it?

50's, 60's, or 70's lake views look about ideal for us at Pop. They don't appear to be preferred (cost), are a little more secluded (quiet), are conveniently located (short walk to main building) and, well, the view!

Has anyone ever made a room request for one of these buildings with a lake view? If so, I'd love to hear about it. My track record with room requests is the pits; I've never had a request granted despite being specific, being understanding about the process, limiting myself to 2 requests, and indicating that my first item is most important to my family. Maybe I'm just unlucky .

Yes, that's exactly what we did last year. It's pretty easy to get since most people want pool views to be closer to the main building.

When we booked our room we added 60's, lake view as requests on our reservation.
When I did online check in I was able to select, 60's, lake view as my options. (they allow for 3 I think but I can't remember what else I picked!lol!) - I know they give you the option of which floor...and some other things.
I also checked the box that said "I prefer my room requests to be met rather than having my room available early" - maybe not exact words, but similar.
We checked in at about 11:30am and all our requests were met and our room was ready.

I've considered it and have wound up (three times now) in the 70s section where the 8-Tracks are. I LOVE IT! Super close to transportation and the food court but, away from the main pool if you want a little quiet.

I love POP it has become my fav value and I have no qualms paying a little extra to bump up from the All Stars. I am heading up in September for a week and may change to lake view, not sure yet.

Having stay preferred at AS Sports I was a bit flabbergasted when we stay preferred at POP. We were in the 70's building way up on the 4th floor overlooking a parking lot I believe. If were ever stay at POP again I will book the pool preferred section instead. The noise has never bothered and I like the convenience of being right on top of everything.

We had a similar location for the one night we stayed at pop before moving to WL. We've stayed POP preferred before. We hated the the parking lot room at the furthest corner of the resort. Couldn't have felt more disconnected from the theme of the resort.
