Hello everyone,
My DD21 and I just returned yesterday.
Some thoughts on the resort itself, nice place to hang out with small kids, not a great place to sleep. You can hear everything from both sides, above, and outside, especially the bathroom!! ughh.....not one good nights sleep.
I've stayed at Port Orleans and what a difference that makes to upgrade!
The food court at PO is so much better too. Well, i tried something new to save money and it wasn't worth it.

I was at POP last week, and loved the resort. I never heard any noise. My DSis said there was a kid outside the room one night around midnight making noise but I didn't hear it at all. My only complaint about the resort was the bus one night. MK was open until 10PM, Wishes ended at 10:15. We did not get on a bus back to the resort until 11:45PM. I have never seen a line up that long EVER in my 24 visits to WDW. I wasn't too happy when we arrived back at the resort after midnight so couldn't get my cup of tea.

I heard much more noise at AKL and VWL ... those inside hallways are brutal for echoing the noise.

Sorry your stay at POP was so noisy. I have not stayed at POP but I read a lot of posts from others who realy enjoy it. Maybe you were near the pool or a noisy area.
I have stayed at several resorts and love the All Starss. I never found them to be noisy once I close my door. Perhaps the walls at All Stars are a little thicker since it is older or maybe I am so tired from my day at the Park I don't even hear the noise.
I hope you were able to enjoy the parks.

hi,
Your right, we stayed at the Music Resort and don't recall allot of noise from the bathrooms next to us.
I'm sorry, but for almost a hundred dollars a night, i shouldn't hear the tolliet every morning and in the middle of the night. I think Disney cut corners on this resort.
Yes, we had a good time at the pool and the parks.

We didn't have that problem either. We were in POP August 7-13 and really never heard a peep from our neighbors, including the toilet. Maybe we got lucky.

I think your rooms next to you were empty. Because we didn't hear anything until the 2nd night, then it was every night after that.....

We've stayed at both ASMo and Pop several times, and have always had the toilet noise problem. Also lots of outside noise. That being said, for a short stay, it's not awful. But for our 11 night stay in January, we talked ourselves into WL! (Someone mentioned noise at VWL~we never heard a peep there!)

We've been POP 3x already. We didn't hear any noise. We were always on the 4th floor. Twice was facing the pool and once facing the lake. Same goes to the All Star resorts. We didn't hear any noise and we are always on the 3rd floor.

I stayed at Pop Century in May and thought that it was great... no complaints. But then again, I went to spend time at the parks, not in my room.

We've stayed at Pop twice (once when it was full) and have never heard anything from any of our neighbors. Sorry you got stuck with the loud ones!

We stayed at Pop for three nights last week, we split our stay between Pop (the first two nights), BCV (the middle 5 nights), and Pop again (just one last night). Pop was definantly a lot louder than BCV. We have also stayed at CBR & Poly and have never experienced any problems with noisy neighbors before (except for that one screaming kid at Poly). At Pop we stayed on the 2nd & 3rd floors - we heard everything from toilets & sinks to running kids to our neighbors conversations & TV's. I contributed some of the 'people' noises to the outside corridors, IMHO I think people tend to be louder when walking outside the rooms when the corridors are outside, forgetting that everyone in the rooms can here them.

In addition to the noise at Pop we weren't very happy with the front desk staff. Non of the CM's we dealt with were very magical. The luggage handling didn't seem very on top of things either, no problems on arrival but leaving the resort seemed to take forever for them to take our bags and then get them back when ME arrived.

Our complaint about the food court, they are open until midnight but at about 11:45pm there was a CM standing by the door saying they were closed and wouldn't let anyone in. I understand that they want to close on time but then he went on to tell people that there would be staff in the food court until 2am for clean up. If you say you are open until 12 - you should stay open until 12pm. We entered thru another door, got what we wanted, paid (on the very slow line), and were out all before midnight. Plenty of people were upset about being turned away at the door before actual closing time.

That's my complaint for now... I think I'll have to right a full report one of these days

We are looking to stay at POP at the end of January for just a few days....do you find one section of the resort to be louder than another?? ie: nearer to auto or people traffic??

I'd like the same info, please. We are there in 12/7-12/12, are DK's are pirate: 9, :earboy2: 6& princess: 2.5, so we were thinking of trying to stay close to the pool, buses, and food court(60's or 70's), :confused3 maybe a 3rd or 4th floor( little less noisey?), or should we stay futher back in a different building?

We were on the 60's - top floor "facing" the lake and didn't hear any noise except the occasional toilet flushing. BUT, I have to say, it was my first break from my (then) 11 month old (who didn't start sleeping through the night until 15 months) so I slept like the dead! :rotfl: I wasn't bothered in the slightest by it. And because of the boards, I had expected it. We also never had any problems with the CMs. We have a short trip so we weren't at the hotel except to sleep so maybe that is the difference too.

I Finally had to post about the noise level at Pop versus some of the other resorts. This is not to say that it's all in your mind, but my cousin works in maint. there and Pop, All stars, and the mods. all have the same type of walls and toilets. What we've found helps is to keep the bathroom door closed at night. Maine :firefight

Thanks for the input :goodvibes ! As you ,it's just a quick trip, and really at the hotel to sleep. Thank you, I feel better now. I was getting a little nervous about the PC.

You can request the 4th floor but you might not get it. We were in the 50's first floor facing the lake, it was really nice. Long days at the parks and then the pool.....dinner, fireworks.....I need my sleep.
I know 350.00 is allot of money to upgrade when you can spend it on other things in Disney. But i will never stay again at the POP. I'll have to keep saving my money and go when i can afford to do moderate again. POR my favorite. :earsboy: I've stayed there before and know i can't here the bathrooms, tv's......at 11:00 at night and first thing in the morning.

We stayed at POP in July with a 5 year old and 2 1/2 year old. We loved everything about POP. We were in the 70s section facing the lake. It was so close to the main building and the Hippy Dippy Pool. It took about 2 minutes to get from our door to the food court. We heard people outside our room at night and the occasional flush but nothing more than any other hotel we have stayed at. I'm sorry you had a different experience!! Hope your trip was still MAGICAL though! :flower:

They weren't...we did hear a baby crying one day, but not at bedtime, and it wasn't loud enough to disturb us. We saw our neighbors on the other side (who did have children) a few times and we didn't hear anything at all from them. There were kids running on the walkway one night late, but that doesn't really count-it was short and you can have that ANYWHERE, even a deluxe.
