Pop in Early June?

Okay, here is my dilemma -- we are booked at POFQ for June, but I keep leaning towards Pop. We loved staying there in October, especially the kids -- they loved the vibrancy and fun atmosphere. Also, their gift shop is bigger, they have tie-dyed cheesecake, and we really liked their food court.

I am worried though that it will be way overcrowded and claustrophobic. Has anyone been the second week of June? How are the crowds? Is the food court packed solid? We would have our own car, so the bus situation wouldn't be an issue. I am just scared of long lines in the food court, packed pools, and tour groups.

Also, we are a family of four, and I am a little worried that the room will feel really small after six nights. What are others' experiences?

Any opinions are greatly appreciated!

Let's see, last year we were there June 6 - 15, 10 days, a family of 5 in one POP room (including one under 3) and we were just fine! The pool is so big that they handle the crowds well, and we were alwasy able to get a table. The food court was great and I barely remember any really crowded times--and we ate lunch their often. And God love those frozen cokes! :lovestruc

Um, the tie-dyed cheesecake, though--I wasn't too thrilled with the technicolor, um, "remnants", the next day. :scared1:

We were there in June...June 1 through 10. Pool was never crowded...we were in the 50's building and had the bowling pin pool. One morning we did laundry while the kids swam...there was a few of us in there, but not crowded. Never had trouble getting a table in the foodcourt..mostly had breakfast there, can't remember a dinner there. We are a family of 4 with the oldest turning into a teenager next week, and we had plenty of space for the 4 of us. Just keep things tidy...take your shoe organizer for the bathroom stuff and keep the folding hampers in the bottom of the closet to keep the clothes under control. We are cruising in October and will most likely stay there precruise! It's just a FUN place to stay!

I was there w/ friends from June 10-18. It wasn't as crowded as I was expecting it to be. I mean there were a lot of people there but I mean, nothing like it would be later in the summer. I say it'd be fine to be honest. We always had a table, never waited long for busses, the pools weren't that crowded, go for it :thumbsup2

We stayed at POR about six months after we stayed at Pop & I noticed that the rooms aren't much bigger at POR. Plus my kids kept asking when we were going to go back to the other hotel (Pop).

Not June, but we were at Pop for 8 nights over Memorial Day week and it wasn't bad at all. We had to wait for a bus a couple times at closing, but you'll have that. No problems at the food court, the pools seemed empty most of the time, and the one day it wasn't, it still wasn't crowded. We had no problems finding 4 chairs near the pool.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! All the replies are exactly what I wanted to hear, especially because many of your dates coincide with the dates we are going! I am going to switch my ressie and the kids will be thrilled!

Michygoomy, your comment on the tie-dyed remnants -- I was dying laughing :lmao: !
