So I am consdering staying at POP for my May and Dec trips. This will be my frist time going solo, DS has decided to retire from WDW. So we have stay at POP a few times in the past, love it its so Disney. It got me thinking there was mostly Familys,or couples. So going solo at POP, think I would be out of Plaace??. Its not the cost(but it is cheaper) but really i love the atmosphere its like being in the park. Really my only real draw back is the no Balcony, but its not huge. Just thought i ask??:)

I stayed at Pop solo last May and thought it was great. Everywhere I went there was plenty of people up for a chat or I could kinda zone and do my own thing too. I liked that there was a safe family feel. If you want a lot of public places to meet people, then I suggest someplace else with more lobby or lounge places but for me it was great! It seemed silly for me to spend a lot on a room when I needed so little space and spent so much time in the parks. For my next trip we have a big group and are staying at a POFQ, I think it really just depends on the tone you want to set for your trip! Have a great time!

I am flying down to ASM solo on Tuesday. Our DS is finishing up his internship and we will be driving to NC for his school come Sat. So I have 4 days solo while he is ay work. Kinda looking forward to it. Have fun !

I stayed at POP 4 times as a solo. For the price, it's a great choice. As a solo, I always prefer food courts, and POP has one of the best (in my opinion). I don't do many table service meals anymore as a solo, had too many awkward experiences. I also never felt isolated from the planet at POP which is important to me on solo trips - I like having people and action and a lively "vibe" nearby. :teeth:

I have felt isolated at other resorts like WL (having a ground floor room next to the wall around the dumspter) and CBR (when I was placed in Trinidad South and felt like I was the only one there). I find POP a great place - I almost prefer it more than the moderates!

Have a great trip!!

I have never felt unsafe as a solo at any Disney resort. And with all the people that attend conventions there as solos, I've never felt out of place, either at the resorts, parks, or restaurants.

I do think it's important that you choose a resort that you are comfortable with, especially if it's your first solo trip. So if you feel comfortable at Pop because it's familiar to you, then it would be a good choice for you.

If you think a balcony will be important to you then I would consider WL or AKL, which are the cheapest deluxes. I also like the Epcot resorts area as a solo, and I like Fort Wilderness cabins as a solo.

Hay thanks for the quick responses:dance3:, I am a very people person i can kick up a conversation anywhere, thats good or bad i guess:confused3, i love to see and talk to people. Its lind of what draws me to WDW,the energy you get from everyone being happy really gives me alot of postive energy. From the resorts at WDW we have stay at POP 4- times,POR Riverside and POly all 1 time.I have put some thought on staying at a resort near EPCOT,that being my Fav park. The Boradwalk would be fun, but again like you all said its that comph:love: feeling. Pop by far has the most Disney feel(to me) so maybe at Christmas time i will try another resort LOL:rotfl2:. Well its fun to dream at least right

I went solo to WL :cloud9:....it was fantastic!!! I did love having the balcony that overlooked the courtyard where I could hear the sound of the waterfall..it was so relaxing!!!

Also every evening to wind down I liked going to the lobby where I could read my nook in front of the massive fireplace. I also met some great folks to chat with!

I have never stayed at POP so I don't know what it would be like but for solo trips I would probably always pick one of the lodges:lovestruc

I think i could look at any resort and find that appeal, solo wise. Thats great for the ones that like and feel comp there, but for me I think POP Is so much fun, i know there is alot of Familys, kids, and a ton of noise!!, funny its everything i like. From the kids you get that energy you do not find anywhere else. I also will be golfing alot at least 4 times during my 7 day trip.

i will be there around the same time solo first time pop but done asmu 2 times solo

It would be fun and new to meet up with other Dis,solo or not at POP for park toureing or a lunch/Dinnier get together(Break,i just dont know I am playing golf in the morinings 4 of the 7 days). Great to meet and chit chat other then through a computer:surfweb:
