We (DW(me), DH, DS~8 and DD~5) are staying offsite at the Clarion Hotel Maingate the first night to rest up after our long haul from Indiana (we are driving). We stay at the Pop Century the following day and then from there AKL.

They don't offer a free breakfast at the Clarion

~ they have a buffet that I'm not too sure about so I'm trying to decide if we should get on over to the Pop Century that morning and get our breakfast there or if we should eat somewhere like Dennys B4 we go to check in.

How is breakfast at the food court there?
I have heard they have chocolate chip pancakes and DS would like that!
Is it pricey?

Also how early can you check your bags in?
How long does that usually take ?

Thanks!!!

They have alot of choices from eggs and bacon to waffles to cereal. I think you would enjoy it. Besides who doesn't want to get the disney experience started early. I have checked into POP before 7 am before. If there is not a room available they will hold your luggage till you are ready. All day if you are going to the parks. Have a great time.

Wow that's great that I can check my bags in that early~gotta be at rope drop for MKya know!

We are coming back to the Pop after lunch
What time do they generally get ya into your room?
I'm hoping that we can get in after lunch in order to take a nap and rest a little if we need to. I guess we could go to the pool if our room isn't ready yet.

I think Pop is generally really good about having a room ready pretty early. We've always arrived there around 10:30/11am and checked in and there was always a room ready. So I think there's a high chance of you having your room after lunch. And I agree with a PP, definitely do breakfast at Pop. Tons of breakfast choices and you can get the Disney experience started early.
:goodvibes

Thanks I'm so glad to hear that!

I'm torn on this b/c I do believe you could do much better getting breakfast elsewhere (Money wise and crowd level wise) but since you need to check-in at POP anyway I would probably eat there. It's not too expensive and what I ate was very good for breakfast.
Why not grab something at MK?

What time is your CP ADR? Do you need to check in to Pop to get your Passes?

Lucky for me my kids do not like to eat when first up, so I can get by with a Granola bar or/& small yogurt or fruit & they can make it until lunch.

Here's a breakfast menu that might help you decide http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_popb.htm and the lunch/dinner menu is http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_popct.htm they were last updated in 2007 so there might be some additions and some items removed but it should at least give you an idea of offerings and prices. We will be there for our first stay at POP Sept 4-9th...can't wait!:woohoo:

Thanks I was trying to find a menu!:thumbsup2

Hey I don't see the Chocolate Chip Pancakes though!

Does anyone know if they still offer those?

Our ADR at CP is at 11:50 and yes we do need to check in to Pop to get our passes.

I might be able to get away with a breakfast in the room~yogurt, bananas, cheerios, milk and sort of thing as we do have a fridge and microwave at the Clarion, but then we need to make a mini grocery stop on the day before.

At least now I know our options at the POP and we can decide the day B4 what we want to do.

Just got back from our stay at Pop yesterday. The breakfast food is MMMMMmmmmm good! It's expensive though. It's also going to be extremely packed, so def get there early. When we ate at like 9, it was a madhouse.

I am very easy to please when it comes to food--just ask my scale. The muffins, pastries and pancakes are good but the Mickey waffles...not so much. I also thought the sausage was okay but the bacon was horrible.

Remember the menus you find online do not always list everything. Last time we were there, the chocolate chip pancakes were awesome! They also have a nice breakfast platter for adults who are hungry in the morning. Eat before 8 a.m. to miss the crowds.

cool thanks

If you are arriving early.....why not swing by DTD. Get a little shopping done or just eat at "the Earl".

We LOVE Earl of Sandwich. We always head to DTD early in the day (shops open at 9:30 and we are there). The crowds can become overhwelming so we shop early, grab a bite and are gone before the "pushers" arrive in the stores.

The Earl Of Sandwich opens early for Breakfast.....yummy breakfast sandwiches on grill-toasted home made english muffins.
