Hi DVC friends:
Since we're arriving on a late night Friday flight in February, our DVC stay doesn't begin until Saturday. As in the past I booked 2 Pop rooms for Friday night to save DVC points. I almost fell over when I was quoted $165 per night before tax. Have the 2008 prices increased this much or could this be a mistake? Please let me know what you think about this and any suggestions for an alternative. I've thought of staying off site for Friday night, but really wanted to use ME.

I can't believe this! Last stay we paid about $85 a room, just this past April.

Are you sure that was for one room or two? I just booked it for one night also in November (thanksgiving weekend) and got it for $99 plus tax it was $111

sounds way too high, I'd call back to double check. Should be probably somewhere about 100 plus tax per night as February around president's week is no longer value season (I think).

Under the new rates that weekend is a little higher. I think for a prefered room with tax that is about right. (according to MouseSavers its $146 plus tax))

If it's just Friday night, consider staying offsite at an airport-area hotel. There tend to be really good deals, especially through priceline. Then take an airport shuttle back to MCO Saturday morning and take ME to Disney.

Oh my gosh! I would not have believed it. It is $165 for 1 night perferred view. $146. plus tax. That is crazy talk. :scared: No way I would pay that price.

Hi!
Yes, you are right. It is a Friday night on President's Weekend, but who would ever believe $165 for the Pop. I guess supply and demand will definitely dictate the Disney room prices from this point on.

Thanks for the Priceline/Hotel shuttle back to the airport idea!

How soon should I start looking into this? Also, any suggestions for a airport hotel that would be a good deal -- or a much better deal than the Pop?

Thanks!~

here are the ones she list on her site for the Orlando airport MCO

3* Crowne Plaza - not sure about free airport shuttle
3* Holiday Inn Airport
3* Hyatt Regency
3* Marriott Orlando Airport
3* Renaissance Orlando Hotel
3* Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport
2.5* AmeriSuites
2.5* Courtyard by Marriott Airport
2.5* Holiday Inn Express (previously 3*)
2.5* Wingate Inn
2* La Quinta Inn Airport North
2* La Quinta Inn Airport West
2* Quality Inn - not sure about free shuttle

these are the ones on priceline.

We're going to WDW next week Sunday, checking in Monday morning. We get in late, and so wanted to stay in an airport hotel. I bid $45 for a 3 star hotel in tne airport area, and was given the Sheraton Suites. With tax and fees, it's $58. That's a little less than 50% of what it would cost through Shearton's website

I was hoping to get the Hyatt since it's right inside the airport, but having a suite will probably work out better anyway since there's four of us. The hotel's just a mile away and has a shuttle.

I wouldn't use Priceline for an extended stay or for flights, but for this kind of thing it works really well.
