pop drive or bus to parks????

its time for my hsuband to have our disney " argument"

I prefer to take our car to the parks
my husband prefers to hop on the hotel transportations.

since we will be staying at the pop - i think we will save time and aggravation if we just drive ourselves.

we have 3 kids and usually one or 2 fall asleep on the way back- and getting 3 kids off the bus when 1-3 are asleep is not fun!!!

what do you all think???

There was a thread here not long ago where everyone (it seemed) weighed in on their personal opinion regarding rental cars vs. Disney transportation. Unfortunately for you, it sounds like you and your DH fall on opposite sides of the issue.

For my family, we like being more in control over our time and we found the Disney buses to be frustrating sometimes. The ride home from MK one night was brutal as we had 2 sleeping kids, umbrella strollers, bages, etc. and the bus was packed.

A lot of people posted in that thread that they don't like to drive while on vacation, get confused by the roads around Disney, don't want to worry about drinking and driving, etc. These are all valid points too.

It is really one of those personal preference things. Maybe you could come up with a compromise (since it sounds like you will have a car) and figure out certain times that you want to have a car and other times when you will use the buses. For instance, you could tell him you really want to drive when you know you'll be at MK until closing because of how crowded the buses will be but you will be happy to take the bus when you go to AK...something like that. Good luck.

My wife and I don't have that arguement--we both prefer to drive ourselves to the parks from CBR which is right around the corner from PC. However, I do prefer to take the bus to MK especially when we are staying till closing. I'd rather wait for one bus then the Monorail/Ferry and then a tram to the car.

But MGM and Epcot are so close it seems silly to wait for a bus when a rental car gets us there and back in minutes!

If I were you, I might check over on the Transportation board or even the Resort board. I seem to recall several threads about this topic. Hope you can settle your argument though. Maybe a little Pixie Dust would help.
