Hey All, first post, getting ready for first trip to Disney World. My question is we are going as a group of 9 family members. Is it possible to get 3 rooms next to each other? If so what's the best way to go about this request? Maybe two connecting rooms then a third?

Thanks, appreciate any help you can offer.

Just call the main reservations number and have all three reservation numbers linked together. We had 5 rooms on our last trip (at Pop) and we were all right in a row. Don't remember if any were connecting. Last I saw, Disney will only guarantee connecting if it's one family with three or more kids, because they require more than one room and Disney doesn't want you to put kids in a room without an adult! But you can always ask.

Have it noted on your reservation that you would like your rooms to be together. However there is no way to know ahead of time if you will get them or not. Disney does not guarantee any room location requests. You kind of just have to keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Thanks for the info guys. Actually the I am the father of three so I might be able to get connecting rooms. Wish me luck.

I wish you lots of luck... You may need it. sorry :(
In May we requested rooms together and we were not even in the same building. i am sure if I put up a fuss something could of been done but my son said he was ok being apart from us.

Oh man that would be rough b/c I have 3 kids so 2 of them will bunk with my wife and I and the 1 will be a nomad between the other 2 rooms.

I think you can register as a Grand Gathering with 8 or more people traveling together. I think if you register as such, you get preference in getting your rooms together.

Unless one of them is over the age of 18 Disney will tell you that you and your wife will have to split up, if you don't get your requested connecting rooms. An of age adult has to been in each room, unless they connect to another room.

Grand Gatherings are being discontinued as of the end of January. According to the OP's ticker, his trip is after that...so he will not be able to register as such.

Not true - Grand Gatherings special offerings are being discontinued, that's all. So you can't have the special fireworks cruise or something like that. You can still register as a Grand Gathering and a group of 8 or over. That's what the OP should be doing right now. I was sort of forced to do that since I was calling for all four of our reservations and once we hit that eight person mark, I was transferred over the Grand Gatherings and while I didn't want it, it has turned out to be great. Now I just refer to one reservation number, and things are clicked into place and we're all together. You have one person who is the general contact point but then each group has a lead person who can also make changes.

That's the best way to do this.
