We will be going to dw Nov 2008. I booked reservations at Pop. WHich is your favorite section to stay in ---50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, or 90's?

Thanks for all of your help

when we stayed there, we paid for a preferred room and were put in the 70s section. not all of the rooms in the 70s are preferred rooms, however, i just think overall this is a great location. it is close to the food court and main pool, however, not that close that you'll hear any noise coming from the people swimming/playing in it. the pop jets are right outside the 70s section which are great for kids and even adults to play in. the theming of it is fun (as is the rest of the theming of the resort) but i think getting a picture next to the giant big wheel is just great!! The 80s and 90s section, IMO, is too far from the food court and main pool, although they do have their own pools, but i just think the hippie dippie pool is so big and fun that i'd want to be closest to that and the food court for quick refills on drinks. 70s gets a :thumbsup2 from me!!

As I've only stayed there once (last year) I guess my vote would be the "section" I was in: the 80s. ;) But, looking at pics on the Pop Century Pic Thread, the 50s look cool too. :thumbsup2

We've stayed in both the 70's and 80's section. Our favorite was the 80's section. It's not so near the main area and main pool that noise was that bad (from the pool anyway), but it is still close to everything. It's not really a high traffic area.

I've stayed 2 or 3 times, all in 50's lake view and all were great. The 80's look like they are miles away from anything...

I have stayed in the 50's, 60's(lakeview and poolside), 70's and 90's. I would always prefer the 50's - I liked the pool there. The 60's lakeview was a close second. I usually stay in preferred rooms after that stay in the 90's. Too far from everything!

We've stayed in both the 50's and 60's and prefer the 60's as our preferred room was closer to the food court and pool.

I've stayed at POP 3x now. First stay in the 60's w/ a lake view (I would not want a pool view room, way too noisy). 2nd stay was in the 50's, at the time a standard view room, now considered a preferred. and 3rd stay, 1st night in the 80's (check-in prob, our room was given away since we checked in so late) and the next day we were moved to 60's w/ lake view. 80's, even for one night was HORRIBLE!!! It was too far out (for us). I would only do a preferred room at POP from here on out. They gave us a preferred room this last trip as a free upgrade for giving away our guaranteed ground floor adjoining room. IMO, I would only go preferred at this resort. 80's and 90's are really really far out, esp at the end of the day or if you just want to grab a refill...

We were in the 80's a couple days ago. It really isn't that far, maybe a 4mns walk to the main building and I walk slow.

Glad to hear that!
My DS would like to stay in the 80s section but I've read
so many reviews that this section is very, very far away
from the Main Bldg.
Walking is good for you and never hurt anyone!:thumbsup2

If walking was gonna hurt, then why are so many people going to Disney then? :lmao:

I liked the 80s and didn't mind the walk. It's more walking (other than the parks) than I usually get to do.... It's too bad that I don't lose weight from all the food I eat at the parks....:upsidedow

Which buildings are the preferred rooms? We have a preferred room reserved. Does that mean we are guaranteed a room close to the bus stops and food court?

We LOVED our 70's lakeview room!

As for the preferred rooms...I asked about those when I booked a couple weeks ago, and the CM told me they are now just 60's.

Your absolutely right DarthKTrava. If you don't like walking then WDW is NOT for you. :rolleyes1
