What a fun place the Pop Century Resort is. I arrived there just minutes before my projected time of arrival on 01/22/2004, after flying overnight from San Diego.

I was lucky to stay in the 1950's section, and showed up at the check-in desk wearing my Mickey Mouse bowling shirt.

The lady at the counter was very helpful. My room was sparkling, and the bed was huge.

The bowling pool was nice and huge, and the Lady & The Tramp (with doghouse) were beautiful. The memorabilia inside the resort was fantastic to look at.

The food at the food court was better than I expected, and I got to meet Tyler.

I dressed up on the day I turned 50 (01/26) Minnie Mouse married me for a few minutes. Hope Mickey wasn't jealous. :teeth: LOL

At MK, I did have my birthday dinner at Tony's on Main Street. I had exactly what Lady & The Tramp had - spaghetti and meatballs. I wasn't serenaded, though.

I took over 300 photos at Disney World, a great many with the digital camera.

I hope to return to Disney World and stay at the Pop Century Resort in 2009.

Has anybody got anything to share about the Pop Century Resort?

Hi - I requested the 50's and hopefully will have that request honored. My Mom had her glory days in the 50's and this trip is all about Mom.

Did you notice any parking problems while you were there? Since you flew you might not have been aware, but we'll be driving our car around alot and wanted some update on the situation with the over-crowded parking lots at Pop Century.

geesh we took over 1700 pictures..my hubby never set the camera down..thank god it was a digital camera also....pop century is awesome..we are returning for the christmas season..i am going through withdrawal...we were there feb 2-8th....we were in the 60s building.....we had a blast............my children had a blast....how could you not there.....

When I stayed in the 1950's section, I saw that parking was not really that close to the rooms, unless the rooms had views of the parking lot itself.

As for the rest of the resort, I did not venture very far from my room to the lobby, the food courts, and the shopping area. They called it Everything Pop.

The bellhops will deliver your luggage to your room. When I could not move into a room at 9AM on 01/22, I just went on over to the Epcot Center. This after getting some coffee and a cinnamon roll Remember this guy was still on west coast time (6AM), and I hadn't slept for 24 hours.

When it was 2:30 PM, I took the Disney bus back to the Pop Century, and my room was ready. I laid down and took a nap, then went back to the Epcot Center to have dinner at Germany pavilion, before shopping at World of Disney in Downtown Disney.

The 1950's section has those giant Brunswick bowling pins. So since I was born in 1954, and I also bowl, it became a natural for me.

Glad you had such a great time!! :) We are staying there before we take the Disney Cruise in May and I can't wait to try it out... :)
