I need advice on whether to save $$ and stay at Pop Century or just keep my reservation at FW Cabins. Currently I have a reservation for Dec 2018 at the FW Cabins (9 nights, 7 day hopper and Disney dining) but noticed that I could save around $1400 if we stay at Pop Century (9 nights preferred pool view, 7 day hopper and Disney deluxe dining). Now my family and I (2 adults, 2 kids,11 & 8) have stayed at the cabins before and loved it but we have not stayed at Pop. Besides the obvious, of saving $$ and a better dining plan, can you give me a peace of mind about staying at Pop over the Cabins?

This will be our first time going to DW at Christmas time, so is it better to save $$ and stay at Pop Century or spend the extra money and stay at the cabins again? I know it's comparing apples to oranges, but if you have stayed at both, please tell me why you would pick one over the other...

Thank you in advance!

Do you mean Christmas week when you say Christmas time? If so, my advice is to stay at the resort that will offer you the most convenient transportation to the parks. With Ft. W, you get the boat to MK over a bus to MK from Pop. It's going to make a huge difference. The traffic that week is horrendous.

Sorry, I guess mentioning the dates would be helpful. We are planning to stay 12/15/18-12/23/18. Transportation is not a problem, as we prefer driving to the parks over taking the bus..

The closer you get to Christmas you may want to rethink that.

Personally, I'd stay at the Fort. When the crowds are high there is nothing like escaping to your own space for extra breathing room, something I just don't feel at the values or moderates.

You should still be fine driving. Driving usually doesn't totally stink until Christmas Day and after. We go every year during this time period and normally stay at FW. My preference would be FW - I always find it magical at Christmas. But that being said this year we are staying elsewhere to save a little money.

This is 2nd time to stay on property (normally stay off site), so I'm just trying to get the best value for my $$...and at the same time make fun memories. This is our first time staying during the Christmas season so I am looking for something more magical....

Thank you all for your input....this is something I will definitely have to think over.

Thanks! After looking at photos of both places and thinking about which one would be more "magical", I think the cabins are the way to go. :yay: Who cares if its more $$.... lol

Good choice. At Disney I throw caution to the wind. Book over my means usually but always a good time. :)

Have Fun.

I would personally do POP, just because it's our favorite Value. I've never stayed at the cabins, but I've heard they are awesome.

I'd pick the cabins. They're on my short list to try. Walked over to FW from Wilderness Lodge a couple months back and loved the vibe. We had a night at Pop during the same trip and it felt a lot more crowded with people.

If you do FW, hop a boat over and spend a little time in the Wilderness Lodge. The lobby is an oasis!

I would stay at the cabins, the crowds will be heavy and it will be nice having your own space.
But the advantage of pop is that dining package! I hate paying for meals when I go to WDW, we always have a dining package, the premium package is my fav!
Have you looked into All Star Music family suites? They are cheaper then AoA, but maybe booked up.
Have fun! We go this year Dec 10-16 and next year already book CR Dec 25-Jan 1 with a theme park view! Premium dining package, lots of money lol so I started paying on it now lol
