Pop Century vs. AsMo

When I took my kids in 2000 we stayed at All Star Movies and they thought it was the coolest place to be.. I have made ressies for a hopeful trip to WDW in March, but made them at Pop Century.. Is that a resort that the kiddos will like? They liked seeing the big Dalmation and the Big Woody and being able to sit in the car and stuff like that... They are obviously 4 yrs older now so all that may not be such a big deal but my youngest who will be 7 when we go will be going for the first time since she didnt go with us the last time.. Will they like it? I have read that the atmosphere is great and the Cast Members are into Disney.. How are the pools? My kids loved the pool at ASmO especially with the Mickey thing in the middle.. Any words of wisdom?

I just got back from Pop, and your kids will love it. They will see large versions of lots of their Disney favorites including Lady & the Tramp, Mogli and Baloo, and a gigantic Mickey phone. They'll see big wheels and Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. They'll also love the Goofy water play area (one of those pop up jet water play areas).

The Hippy Dippy Pool has flowers that spray water on swimmers. The computer pool and the bowling pin pool are relatively boring, though.

my kids *LOVED* the bowling pin pool! and the bowling pin staircases! they thought it was the coolest theming ever (and they don't even know the word theming! LOL!) actually, my children (and dh and i) loved everything about pop century! could not find a single thing to complain about even if we tried! (and we had lots of time at our resort due to hurricane frances)

My kids loved Pop in September. The best advantage to me is the bus service seems better at Pop.

I'd choose the AsMO over PC. If you stay at PC, the 50's pool is the least crowded. My kids (11 yo and 8 yo) preferred that pool.

Never got to stay at Pop but have heard great things about it. I do love ASMo though!

I love the All Star Movies, but Pop Century does have the lake, the bridge, surrey bikes, a more compact layout, Covers over the Bus Queues, some views of the fireworks ...

Thanks for the replies.. I was just a little worried because I knew how much fun they had at ASMo and didnt know if Pop Century could live up to it... I like the idea about the lake and bridge.. We will be going for 10 days, so I have figured 8 days in the parks and 2 days to lay around the pools, etc.. Any other comments would be great ... Thanks!

I stayed at Pop for Ten nights and left on the eleventh day. I have never stayed at All Star Music, but I can tell you we loved Pop. My family and I previously stayed at two Moderate resorts and I can tell you we all liked Pop better than CBR and POFQ. Pop Century was just so festive and fun. The atmosphere was exciting. Especially when you first walk in. I loved the Hippie Dippie Pool. I stayed in a preferred room and would definitely recommend that location, overlooking the pool if you can get it. It just was a great view and fun to be in the middle of the action. If you prefer a more quiet location the 50s seemed more subdued.

We've stayed at both and POP is our choice. It's nice to take a walk around the property and look at all the decades. The pools are great and there are plenty of chairs and even a little shade, which ASMo doesn't have. The food court is fabulous! Make sure you try the sloppy joes and the nachos! They play music from each of the decades and it really adds to the atmosphere. It's a beautiful resort. They took all teh good things from ASMo and made them even better!
