hi trying to understand which is best? Or are they much of a muchness.

Can't decide where to stay for 3 weeks in summer of 2016!!!!

The rooms themselves are almost identical. The all stars are smaller individually, PoP is bigger, but has a better layout then one of the allstars (Music). Allstars have less guest rooms, hence less guests than POP.

The menus are different in the food courts. Look at Allears.net and compare food.

There is the big bus debate...ignore it. All stars will sometimes share mid day but not all the time. POP is a huge resort and everyone there is crowding into one single bus stop. Both of these are annoying if you get caught up in it. Ignore the bus debate. Neither one is perfect. Buses to and from DTD suck at all of them.

If food is important pick the one that has the menu you like the most. If theme is important then pick the one that has the theme you like best. If money is important then pick Sports or Music cause they consistently run less per night than Movies or POP (or AoA for that matter). Music and Sports are also the first two pick up/drop offs if you do share a bus. Actually that would be Sports (1) then Music (2). Both Sports and Music have newly refurbished food courts.

Good luck deciding.

(ps. Music and AoA have family suites which while more expensive (Music is cheaper than AoA) give you more sleeping options and two bathrooms plus microwave/coffee pot. None of the other values have microwaves or coffee pots, but they all have mini fridges.)

How many are in your party? All those rooms are a pretty small space for three weeks for more than a couple.

We've stayed at both and Pop just edges out Allstars in everything but theme (and then it's only All Star movies that does it for me).
The rooms are much the same, but the location, transportation, food options and pools are all slightly better at Pop IMO.

Stayed in both numerous times, if you're like me and DW and spend virtually no time in resort there's no real difference. Pop is slightly better, but you get better prices for sports... For the sept trip coming up we're saving 200 pounds by booking at sports rather than pop... No brainier really

Stayed at both Pop and POR - my vote goes to CSR!!

Seriously though, if it's a choice between Pop and the All Stars I'd pick Pop every time. We erm, 'Popped' in for a visit (sorry!) a few weeks ago and although the front is still very concrete-y in appearance, we were surprised at how much the foliage has grown since our last visit and made the resort look so much nicer. Also you have the benefit of walking over the bridge to visit AoA.

I would agree with other posters that three weeks may be a bit too long to spend in any value, going on room space - is it worth considering a split stay, a value first then move up to a mod? :)

With a three week stay, you might find a mod more comfortable, and, as you noted they include QS Dining.

It's worth looking to see which Mod is cheaper. When the 2016 deals came out, CSR and CBR were both cheaper than the Port Orleans resorts by a not insignificant jump... and still have the QS dining. That's why we went with CSR over POFQ, and it has way more amenities as it's a conference resort as well. Pete Werner describes it as a Deluxe resort with a moderate price tag, and whilst I think it won't be the same as a deluxe, he's not someone who is shy about calling out bad resorts!

I love CSR! this last visit just confirmed we made the right choice of mod again :) It always amazes me that for a resort with nearly 2000 rooms the resort never seems busy, you are lucky if you pass 10 people on your walk down to breakfast! Obviously the conference centre has an impact on that too.

We have stayed in All Star Music and POP, our last holiday was at POP and we loved it stayed close the the bowling pin swimming pool which was a short walk to the buses and food court, generally the resorts are very similar but we loved being able to walk across the bridge to AoA and use their food court (lots of different options from POP). Before our last holiday we said as we spend such little time in the room we would always go cheapest but now we're not so sure, but a big thumbs up for POP

Thanks everyone. Are there things for kids at Pop? We have a 4 year old who will love the big statutes of woody, buzz etc at all star movies. Just wondering if there is anything similar at Pop? They probably won't be as interested if just music related. Thanks!!

Movies is the only All-Star that can out-do Pop in themeing IMO.
Pop has large Disney characters in each relevant decade - Lady & Tramp in the 50s, Mowgli & Baloo in the 60s, Mickey in the 70s and Roger Rabbit in the 80s.
Unlike ASM though, the characters are not the focus of the theme so there will be phrases and images from non-Disney things too.
