So, I'm at Pop now, checking out tomorrow morning.

We have a bunch of extra stuff that we are not / cannot take back with us. Namely:

Half a case (10-12 bottles) of water
Box of peanut butter chocolate chip granola bars
Most of a box of Kashi banana bread bars
Some snack packs of cheese/peanut butter crackers

Dollar store rain ponchos (20?)

Glow stick bracelets
Princess stickers
Cars/Princess/Minnie temporary tattoos

If anyone is here, or checking in early tomorrow, and wants this stuff, please say the word. I think we are planning to be checked out by 10:30 am.

I'll check back here later tonight and early tomorrow. You can also email me - shocgal @ yahoo . com

I'd love the bottles of water and glow bracelets, if no-one else wants them? (I don't want to take it away from someone with little kids etc). I think tomorrow we're headed out around 7am for EMH but I could PM you my name/room number and pick them up from the front desk?

I would love the bars and crackers but do you think they would hold them? We are not checking in until Monday. I wanted to order from the grocery but I don't have enough for the minimum order and we are flying so I am space limited. If so I will pm my name to hold them but I also understand if this is too much trouble. It is so nice of you too put this out there.

If you'd like the water too, you're welcome to them? :) I believe they hold things at the desk for a week?

Yeah to many bugs still. I have even heard issues of guests not being able to access their dining plans due to MB issues. That is my main worry besides not getting into my room :/

Mine too....but I will pitch a fit because I'm not paying OOP for food I've already purchased. They can give me a credit for a day of food for each of us. My trip is not budgeted to pay OOP for food.

This! That is my main concern as well.

Completely an idea off the top of my head here, but if you did have to pay OOP, I would purchase as if I was on the dining plan and then at the front desk they have MB "specialist" CM's - I would take them the receipts and see if they can refund it and remove the credits of the DDP in exchange.

After counting down for 3 months, I have just returned from my 31st stay at WDW~ Bittersweet....Glad to be home because, as always, it was exhausting, but miss the sights and sounds instantly. The Shock was coming from 90 degrees to 39 in the Chicago Area!...We Arrived Friday the 18th at 3pm..got our room (it had a fridge) and MB's Went to Epcot, and all was well....The MB's (magic bands) worked without a problem at all park entrances, all fast pass lanes, and all payment kiosks. Swam in the Hippy Dippy Pool every morning w/ mb's on and no problem at all...Rapid Refill Mug worked without a problem. 90 degrees every day but the last.....hot and humid. The Epcot Food and Wine Fest was great,,wish they had it at least twice a year..Only observation was it would have been nice to fill some of the clear areas with some chairs/benches to eat your fest food...with the heat it would have been greatly appreciated due to high crowdsI observed at least 80% of guests wearing the MB's..Lots of gray ones,,,must have been the ones NOT pre- selected.....Over All,,,amazing as usual. Pop CM's Kind and gracious...Lifeguards,,,very dedicated and alert...Housekeeping, efficient and friendly. FYI.....The food court TUNA sandwich is BETTER when requested on the TEXAS TOAST....(I personally do not like buns with grains and seeds) FYI....If you are in line getting an omelet, and want a side of the potato casserole (YES YOU DO!!) ask the person who took your order so you don't have to go stand in another line...they have NO problem with it, and it takes them NO time at all...FYI....dessert comes with your plan?...get the cashier to stamp your receipt at check out...that way you can go after you eat to the ice cream area and order a BETTER dessert such as the Brownie Sundae or Apple Blossom.....ASK for the tart WARMED!! FYI....Going to Epcot to enjoy the Food and Wine Fest, and want to save the walk thru FUTURE WORLD?? Take the Bus to Hollywood Studios..get off and go to the boat dock to the right of the entrance to HS..Nice slow peaceful ride stops at Swan/Dolphin...Yacht/Beach....Boardwalk, ,and then on to the back entrance of Epcot...Saves you energy to tour all of World Showcase! (approx 25 minutes)FYI....Try to change your usual mealtime...Eat really early or much later than usual...the food court IS busy during normal mealtimes..
FYI....TAKE your room towel with you to the POOL....There IS a Rest Room next to the Petals Pool Bar...and it DOES have a SHOWER in it!....FYI...You may have made Fast Pass choices at home that you do not use...NO problem...step up to a FP Kiosk and change your times or experience...simply choose the option you want.....FYI.....THE Peach Cobbler at MK Columbia Harbor House,,,was AMAZING.....it is listed at "SEASONAL COBBLER" Delicious!
The Fried Shrimp is still really good!....FYI..Captain Cooks Counter service at the Poly has DOLE WHIP SERVE YOURSELF....snack credit..enuf said!!! Gasparilla Grill at Grand Flor. has a GREAT BBQ Chicken Flat bread,,they will make it to order if you don't want the onion and pepper on it!!.also really good chicken soup..FYI... M.K...BE OUR GUEST....LUNCH.....REAL silver ware (not plastic) Self Serve Beverage island....Roasted Pork/Mashed Potato/ Veggie Plate was Fantastic (again!)....FYI...Wear your Magic Band before you approach the Magical Express area at the airport....all you need do is tap it to the entrance and they tell you what line to wait in for your resort...Easy...it instantly knew "party of 2"....FYI....Looking for More bang for your Buck?....with the QS Counter service Plan, you can get a RIB/CHICKEN combo at HS at the Fairfax Fare area near Tower of Terror....Good Food, great deal....
I have toured all of WDW 31 times, and still love finding new and easy travel tips....any questions? just ask, I will try to help,,,,HAVE A GOOD TIME and even though you don't want to stop and take pictures at the time...DO IT...you will be happy when you get home!!!:dance3:

Thanks for the trip report! Headed to the world for the 2nd time end of January & our family is super excited :-)

I've never travelled to the World with my father before. He is a smoker.

Can someone tell me if they sell disposable lighters at Everything Pop, or would we be better off buying them at the airport when we arrive?

That is exactly what the CM at Pop told us to do a few weeks ago. When we checked into Pop on Oct 12th they were having trouble with the computer system and we were headed to dinner. They told us that only one (my DDs) MB was working and if that didn't work to pay for our meal on the DDP then to pay for it out of pocket, save the receipt and then return to POP and they would refund our money and pull the credits from the DDP. We were able to use DDs MB to "pay" for our meal and we charged the tip to our room with the MB too. I have a feeling that all our MBs would have worked but we only tried hers.

Have a Great Time..It will be here before you know it...The Second Trip is Just as good...if not better than the FIRST!!! You've been there!!! You've done it!!! Now you are pros...!!! Have Fun!!!!!:cool1:

After calling the front desk, it seems they won't hold things at the front desk. Unfortunate. :(

Calling the front desk means you are talking to a call center. The cm isn't on wdw property and might never have been. GO to the front desk and ask if you have options. Might be the same answer but at least it would be from someone in Florida.

Completely agree with this. I would add that it would be Bell Services that would hold the items. I would check with them.

Hi,
I have two weeks to go!
Part of my stay I will be solo. But for a few nights I will have some family join me.
I just want to make sure that I am reading the rules correctly for number of people in a room. For a few nights we will have three adults, one child and one infant in the room. I know there is a charge for more than two adults (do you know how much that the charge is?) and I am okay with that. But I want to be sure that with the baby it is okay that the total number is going to be 5. Thanks for any replies. :)

Hi there,

The charge for additional adults (18yo or older) is $10 a night. Your infant should be no charge since he/she is under 3yo.

If you know the name, arrival date & reservation #( and it is within 2 weeks, but preferrably one)....you can pack the items up and take them to what it actually labelled 'luggage assistance' (that's what is on the actual sign but some people like to call it Bell Services). They will hold them there for the arriving party in a special long term holding area. Just be sure to let them know when you drop the pkg off, that it is a 'long term hold', they put those pkgs in a completely different area than the things coming/going daily! HTH!!
BTW...YOU should put that info (the name, arrival date, ressie #) on the pkg yourself before taking it to them. ;)

When I stayed at PORFQ in 2010 we did this. Very easy.
There was a box beign passed from one guest to the next. the box was random items for pixie dust, didn't want to take home items such as glow sticks, bandaids, unused snacks, waters etc...
It was set up on a thread on the DIS. My kids really enjoyed getting the box and leaving for the next people with some new items from us.

I will be insisting on a card to go along with my magic bands. There are still to many glitches going on and I do not want to deal with glitches with no back up option!

If the system is down like it was last Friday and Saturday, you're out of luck. We had no way to get into our room when we arrived (for almost 10 hours) because our MBs didn't work and they couldn't print our cards.

You are right, there are way too many issues yet! We just got home tonight after a week of dealing with DMX & MB problems. I was only able to access FP+ on DMX one day of our 7 day trip! That means no changes to fast passes unless you can find a kiosk. And good luck finding those....many CMs couldn't tell me where they were and they are not on the park maps. And don't bother trying to change a popular fast pass because as soon as the park opens, within minutes they are gone (both paper & FP+)....

What a great idea! I have seen other resorts doing this, where the DIS members pass a box along to the next DIS guest staying at the resort. Maybe we can start something like this although I just left and will not be back again for a year. Maybe the stuff being left this week we start something for us Poppers! :)
