I'm heading down on TUESDAY to stay at POP! I can't wait. Don't care what I'm looking at out my window. I'm just excited to see a GIANT bowling pin.

We're heading there on Tuesday also! (And I'm also from upstate NY :goodvibes )

I'm so glad that people posted about BOG opening up for later dates! I finally got BOG for Nov. 3rd. The times were pretty off-peak, early morning when they first open, our time which was 12:50-1:20 and then a later time slot around 2:00. Touring with 2 adults, that time is perfect for us.

This is the only FP+ benefit that will really help our touring. Last December my friend and I waited over 30 minutes just to get to the front doors of BOG - way too much time spent for a QS meal! I can't see how this will work once all guests are able to make FP+ reservations there??

At least this counters some of my disappointment over the changes in Pop's food court. I have stayed at Pop 5 times without my DH and I have always raved about how great some of their meal choices are. Now all my favs are gone, guess we will be walking over to AOA for our first night meal (which is okay because I wanted him to see it anyway).

I made FP+ for BOG. My kids are picky eaters and I know they wont eat anything on the menu. I plan to stop at a quick service location to get to-go meals for them. Will there be any problem in bringing them in to BOG, so they can eat while we dine?

Ok so we got back home Friday. Needed to unwind and relax before I started posting our review. Well that and I was posting pics on facebook. Let's begin with the review.

Food Court - Let me say it was crowded in the morning, specifically around 8-9a. We did breakfast everyday. We did try dinner there once. I got the pepperoni French bread pizza. It was ok not anything spectacular. My DH got the rotisserie chicken dinner. He said it was ok. As I said nothing really spectacular about it. We did look at all the menu's and they just were blah. Nothing you would really be interested in for the time period POP is suppose to be representing.

Magic Bands - They worked great. We had a few minor issues when we tried scanning at restaurants but it was quickly solved. The hand held devices that they are using don't seem to always work. I think all the restaurants are pretty much aware of the glitch and are baring with it. It is best to always carry the card, just in case. The bands were great at the parks. Just remember which finger you are using for finger printing to enter the park.

Fridge - As we all know, the fridges are still a work in progress. No fridge for us but we did make an adjustment. I had baggies that we used and filled with ice. Placed them in the bottom of the unplugged fridge and had items that needed to stay cold on top. It actually worked well. Replaced the ice every night to insure that items stayed cold.

Room - I have to say that our room was cleaned every single morning. We had a nice lady, don't know her name, that cleaned it right after we left in the morning. She was great. Left us a towel mickey and swan. Have to enjoy those little things.

Weather - We got rain off and on. Of course it is Florida weather, which means it never lasts that long. It was hot and humid most of the time. Since we hit the parks in the morning, we were glad to leave by the afternoon when it was the hottest. Usually after the park we hit the pool for a few hours.

Restaurants - We ate at some of our usual's and a few new ones. House of Blues had the best fried chicken. Planet Hollywood had excellent steak, as did T-Rex. I recommend T-Rex to anyone that loves dinosaurs. The theme is great as is the food. The Luau at the Polynesian was wonderful. You got a great deal of food as well as a show. LOVE IT! Cape May Café had some really good seafood. I love seafood.

All in all we had a great time. We even went to Universal and tried out Transformers, Harry Potter, Despicable Me, Men in Black, Terminator, ET, and the Simpsons. We experienced the most rain there. But enjoyed ourselves. Even grabbed a bite at Bubba Gumps. The food there was excellent.

We plan to go next year. Unfortunately the bounce back that was available was from 20 Aug-29 Sep. I plan on going in October of next year with the family. So will have to wait it out. I am sure they will offer it since the bounce backs are always a sign of what is to come. Time to start saving up. My AAA travel agent is already keeping her ears and eyes out for me. :woohoo:

My DD is off the charts picky. So much so that we have to bring in her food. We have a FP+ for BOG and I pre-ordered our meals. Her meal selection is a bottled water and a cupcake, which my DH will actually eat.

Also I don't know if you saw that you can make some minor modifications to some of the meal selections (no cheese, get double of one side instead of selecting two different sides on the kid meals...) You don't see the ability to do some of the modifications until after the meal is selected - it's a little quirky. Regardless, I don't think there would be an issue in bringing a meal from another QS. :)

I know we are sooooo excited!!
You too!!!!!!

Hi all!! Just back from a 7 night stay at Pop!

We LOVED it. It was our first stay at Pop, and since we previously stayed at AoA I was nervous about Pop "measuring up" it was great in different ways from AoA. I love them BOTH and I think where one lacks the other is great and visa versa.

I am planning on doing a full trip report but wanted to give my first timer opinion of the resort here, as I used these reviews by Disers to choose Pop!

We checked in at 9 pm, luggage assistance took our bags and insisted on delivering them, they were as kind as could be, there was no line to check in and we got all our requests! When I mentioned that my youngest son (2.5) was hoping for a magic band as well the front desk gave him an unactivated one to wear like the rest of the fam and then later in the week sent a personalized one to our room which was ABOVE and beyond sweet :lovestruc

We loved the magic bands and only had one small issue with them not opening the door that was resolved super quick. The rapid fill mugs for us were easy breezy.

Our room was 5415, 60's section 4th floor lakeview right near the green yo yo stair case. It was a WONDERFUL location. Close to everything and no noise at all, we found the room more than spacious enough and it was very clean with the new bedding and a new fridge. The room had some noticeable aging but that did NOT effect the quality of our stay at all. Our housekeeper Blanca was about the kindest person EVER she cleaned and did fun stuff with our room everyday and stopped in us in the walkway twice thanking us and doting on our boys. We found the beds comfy but we do not have a luxury mattress by anyone's standard at home! I also found the resort to be well kept!

We loved the SERVICE. I had a small medical issue while there (extreme case of disney rash LOL) Pop was terrific, they paid for my cab fare and got me my prescription with ease. The service at Pop was levels above what we got at AoA. I mean everyone was super nice and helpful and we did not find a curt one in the bunch.

The atmosphere was SO lively which is right up our alley we liked the pools well enough, but did miss AOA's pool.

The food court was crazy all the time but we found the food to be good and lots of choices :) We ate lunch there twice and breakfast once as we spend most of our time in the parks. It was kind of weird smelling in the drink section and I prefer the way AoA's drink station is not located in the central chaos!!

Any questions please just ask!! We will be back for sure :)

You don't have any pics of the bedding or the new fridge, fully stocked do you? Just trying to plan out a grocery order, and curious about the bedding. Glad your stay was a good one! I hate hearing about the bad stays that some people experience, because it makes me less excited! Thanks!:wave2:

I do have photos of the new bedding but not of the new fridge. Once they upload to photobucket I will post. So sorry, since we thought we were not going to have one we did not do a grocery order this time!
