Awesome! Do you know if they sell 1/2 gallons of milk in the food court? It may be easier for me to just purchase them as needed rather than get 2 in advance. Thanks for taking time out from your trip to respond! I love DIS'ers!

7 more days for me!! Woo-hoo!!

Yes, you can purchase a 1/2 gallon of milk ($2.99 as of 6/11). :goodvibes

I just checked today, there is only one right now...space invaders

Here now, it looks as if you can fit 1 gallon + in the frig if you take out the shelf.
...maybe even 2 gallons, but dont want to steer anyone wrong on that one, we dont have anything to test that one out

Thanks so much Marc! You are so thoughtful in checking the thread on your vaca and updating us all :thumbsup2!

Anyone else here now and know what the huge fire was closely earlier today? You could see it from the bus stop. Helicopters are still circling but the fire is out. I have pics but can't post right now.

One report said it was a controlled fire gone out of control, 5 acres, ... Others say its suspicious. Tv says no one was hurt

Please help me decide on a room request (standard view!)...

1. I want the quietest area possible. If a longer walk to a pool or the bus stop earns me some quiet, I'm ok with that!

2. We're driving, and using the car several days, so maybe closest to a parking lot? But still quiet?

3. We'll only be using the food court a time or two, so I don't care about proximity to it.

4. The 50's lake view appeals to me, but it's hard to tell on the map how long a walk this is to the parking area. Also, not sure if we'll even be in our room at 9pm at any given night to see the fireworks, so this might be useless to us.

Did I mention quiet? :)

I looked at the map, and it's very helpful! Just hard to choose not having been there in person. Thanks.

Hello Everyone~

We're staying at POP 6/12 - 6/21. I think this is our third time? We've done deluxe but my family just loves POP!

Couple questions:

1) The new fridges--anyone have a picture of them? We called today and confirmed that they would have them. I'm trying to plan breakfasts and such.

2) In previous trips on the dining plan, I found that there was a big array of stuff that counted as either a snack credit or a dessert on the dining plan that were actually useful things for breakfast. Since we don't care much for dessert with *every* meal, we found it quite handy to use those on breakfast items that we saved for the next morning. Is there still a good selection?

3) Please tell me the slushies are still there!

Thanks in advance.

Read the first post in this thread. There are fridge pics there. There's also one on page 58.

Hi michygoomy. We will be there the 11th-20th! Third time at POP also. I do know that the slushies are no longer there. Also, there have been pics of the fridge on this thread I believe somewhere. I am not sure about your #2 question. I think you can get fruit as a dessert and save that. Your snack credits can be used for breakfast items as well.

Have fun!

Does anyone know how much they sale beer for in the food court? I'm trying to decide if I should put it down on our shopping list or if I should just let DH buy them as he needs them there. Thanks so much for the help!!

they sell 12 packs and 18 packs of beer at any of the Hess gas stations of property. (one is on world drive. one is near the boardwalk resort, on Buena Vista drive, and one is on Buena vista drive across from downtown disney.

when we don't have a car, the first or second night, we go eat at DTD (usually using our planet hollywood voucher) then we walk across bueana vista drive (there is a sto light) to the Hess gas station.. we bought an 18 pack of Miller lite for about $12. then waked back to the bus stop.. they do allow you to bring it on the disny buses!

michygoomy.. sorry, they haven't hace the slushies, ie. frozen coke, in a few years..:sad1::mad: (they were GREAT with a little added rum!!!)

Well, we are off today for our 2nd stay at the POP! We are driving straight from SE Michigan! 5-27-6-7:cool1:

Our first trip there was 4 nights, just DH and I. We didn't really "explore" a lot, but this trip we will have our 4 kids with us.

We have requested connecting rooms and 60's. I will let you all know how things go:thumbsup2

I saw on the news that part of I-4 was shut down because of a brush fire and that it was wreaking havoc with traffic around WDW. Maybe that's what you were seeing?

ETA: Here's an article about the fire. :)

My son lives there and works at Disney. He said the fire is big and very somoky-or was yesterday. It's by Gaylord Palms Hotel which is off property. Would love to see pictures. Hope they get it out soon, we are at Pop next week.

You have alot of options if you want to be close to parking and want quite. I wouldn't really suggest a lakeview if you want to be close to the parking. Off my head I'm thinking either building 2 or 1 facing the parking lot would be a option. I don't think you would want a room facing the courtyard since there is a pool there. Building 6 in the 70's faces the lake and has a parking lot but I'm just not sure how close the parking is to that building. There is also buildings 7, 8 and 9 that are close to parking also. But there is a pool in that section and I would say clear of anyything facing the pool if you want quite. So maybe ask for one of the backside rooms that again face the parking lot.

In all honesty once you figure out the short cuts walking threw the parking lots ect. IMO pop is really compact and nothing is really that far from classic hall.

What a fun adventure!! In the mid 80's we saved Cheerios's Box tops and my friend and I decided to take our kids on the bus from Boston to WDW round trip. Four kids ages 6 to 11 for free on the bus - we had all kind of maps etc to make the trip fun and interesting. Talk about an adventure! The youngest is 36 now, I think, and they still remember that trip...and tell the story to their kids.

Have a fabulous vacation!!:goodvibes

Oh no! I told my husband no more slushies and he told me to cancel. ;)

I see you have a DD7. My DD7 tries to make friends with every little kid she meets at the pool so I'll probably run into you.
