You don't appear to be going to Epcot, or I was going to suggest the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus in Norway, my husband and I ate there in January and the character experience was outstanding. We also love the Supercalifragalistic breakfast at the Grand Floridian with Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh, and Tigger.

We have decided to skip Epcot as we didn't want to plan too many park days. We also want to visit other resorts for sightseeing and/or dining, spend some time at the pools, etc. But I'm sure I will start planning another trip after this one ;), so I will keep that in mind.

ONE WEEK!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Having a hard time concentrating at work (that's where I am right now, good thing my boss is gone...). I still have a small list of things to pick up -- sun hat, cheap GO phone for the friend who's coming with me (she doesn't own a cell phone, and I'm nervous about the communication issues), big bottle of Motrin...

Hi and welcome to the Boards!

You will have access to your dining plan on arrival. We are excited trying it this year. One thing, I notice your on the QS Dining Plan, didn't know if you realize that it doesn't cover Chef Mickeys or the Rainforest Cafe.

Hope that helps! Congrats on your daughters first visit! Don't forget to pick up her 1st visit pin when you check in. :)

Yes, I am aware that the de DP does not cover those two restaurants. I just thought they would be worth trying even if it means we have to pay.

Didn't know about the first visit pin. Thanks! :thumbsup2

:welcome: to the DIS boards and the POP FAQ thread!! :goodvibes

You will be traveling at a nice time to visit Disney. FYI, the Magic Kingdom hosts a Halloween party (a separate hard ticket event). I highly recommend it if you can fit it in ... there is a special parade, special halloween fireworks, treat or treating for the kids, etc. Check out the park schedules, on the nights that host the Halloween party the MK will close to the public at 7pm.

How about considering a princess character meal for your princess?? I know you are on the QS dining plan, did you want to add another table service meal? There is Cinderalla's Royal Table (at MK); 1900 Park Fair at the Grand Floridian (The dinner has Cinderella). You haven't mentioned Epcot, but there is also a princess meal (Akerhous - Norway). Just a thought.

My DD and I also love the breakfast at the Poly ... it is a character meal with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey & Pluto.

For QS places, I recommend:

Animal Kingdom
Flame Tree BBQ

Magic Kingdom:
Cosmic Ray's
Columbia Harbor House

Downtown Disney:
Wolfgang Puck Express
Earl of Sandwich

Hollywood Studios: (not too many favs, but there are some okay ones)
Pizza Planet
Backlot Studios
Fairfax Faire

FYI, you have access to both your park tickets and DP as soon as you check in. :goodvibes

I've read about the Halloween Party but I guess I will have to look up more info and see if we can fit it in. Would be quite an experience for my little one.

Thank you so much for your recommendations for QS restaurants. There are so many options out there and it's hard to choose.
Still considering Cinderella's Royal Table. Again wonderful for my princess, but not sure about adding another table service.

Oh, yes, I forgot to mention Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, it's one of the best parties and THE best parade Disney does. I have the sound track and listen to it all the time.

Hi Poppers!

My DH, my DS (19 months when we travel) and I will be staying at Pop Sept 4-9. It's DH and I's second stay there. Last time we went in August 2010, we took a cab to a pharmacy and discovered DS was on his way. :) I am so, so, so excited - I can barely contain it!

Just a few questions.. DS has asthma (due to entering the world 14 weeks early) and needs nebulizer treatments as needed. Is there somewhere in the parks that I could plug his machine in and give him a treatment? We'll have his inhalers too, so hopefully those will do the trick. He'll be used to heat and humidity by then, but we never know and must be prepared!

Where is a good place to request to be near buses and away from noise? I'd prefer first floor, so I could just wheel his stroller into the room and avoid elevators. They smell bad.

How can we get to Saratoga Springs for dinner one night? That confuses me.

This is our first time with DDP. Last time we went for 4 days and spent $800 on food and drinks. We would've spent more if we hadn't found out about bean. :) We schedule two meals per day. DH wants 3 TS meals a day (I think that is overkill). How do you see anything if you are a slave to your schedule? I already have a decent schedule going.

And lastly, 104 days to goooo!!!

To get to SSR I would take a bus to DTD and then the boat to the resort. But then I love boat transportation and take it anywhere I can! :boat:

I'm in desperate need of some motivation from my fellow Dis Poppers today. I've lost mine and can't seem to find it anywhere, lol!

Each park has a baby care center. That is my first though regarding your question. I am not certain if they can accommodate you, but I suspect they might, plus they provide a nice respite area in general.

Locations are:
MK - next to Crystal Palace
EP - In Odyssey Center
DHS - near main entrance
AK - right before bridge connecting Discovery Island to Africa

Hi and :welcome: to the DIS and the POP FAQ thread!!

I see that jcarwash gave you the locations for the first aid centers.:thumbsup2 which is probably your best bet (quiet and air conditioned area too). :)

For location choices, you have not indicated what category you have booked ... standard or preferred, or the pool views.

For standard locations at POP ... like the 60s, 70s and bldg. 9 of the 80s/90s (the section that is closest to Classic Hall- see the map on page 1 of this thread. Would not recommend the 50s as there is a DSA (designated smoking area) in the 50s leading to Classic Hall - and bldg 2 can be a longer walk. But if you request Bldg. 1 (Lady) there is pref and std rooms on the backside, and you will be fairly close to classic hall. There you would be cutting across the parking lot where the ME buses are; it is not my preference, but other guests have liked this area.

Both the 60s/70s have preferred areas as well.

As Grumpy Grandma stated, you can take the bus to DTD and boat over to SSR. If you will be at a park before your TS, you can also take the bus directly to the resort. Or a cab ride, POP usually has cabs in front. :)

Whoops, sorry. Yes, we are staying Standard. Who do we call? Is it too early to make the request?

im so happy my surgery in april was a succes and now i just need to build up my stamina and wak good again but i have almost 3 months for it

We also do the QSDP and just pay for a couple of TS meals. It still works out cheaper and we don't have to be stuck to adr for 11 days..

Hey All!!
I'm joinin in on all the hippy dippy fun!!!
We stayed at Pop in march and absolutely loved it. the price is right and its comparative to most of the moderate resorts anyway!!!

Looking to see what everyones opionion is on the bus system around food and wine fest time!
We will be there Oct 10-16 some weekend/some weekday days! We like to go for morning EMH and then go in the pool or nap and go back for dinner and fireworks. This trip with F&W added in we may use the buses more than the 2 trips a day and are curious how crowded they truly get at peak times.
thanks everyone. Your all so awesome!!!:hippie:

We did F&W 2 years ago. The bussing was fine.. I will say to try to stay clear on the weekend.:scared1:. We went once during the week and it was fine. Went on Friday and we had to leave wall to wall people.. I hate not being able to move. We went the first week of F&W so maybe it was just a bit busier. I loved having the extra snack on the QSDP that year.

From my experience every weekend is wall to wall people in WS. I just plan my time so that I'm in other parks on the weekend and save Epcot for during the week. :thumbsup2

Motivation? What's that? I cannot get off these boards.

Me too! :rotfl2:

As Kelly and Grumpy Grandma stated, try to go on the week days. We did F&W in Sept in 2009 ... and were happy that we went twice during the week and only once on the weekend. Busing was fine. :goodvibes

I loved having the extra snack on the QSDP that year.

Kelly, it was wonderful having that extra snack, wasn't it? :goodvibes Wrong move on Disney's part to take it away from the QS.

:cool1: Mickey Mail arrived today!!! :yay:

I think I read somewhere that in the POP food court there were arcade tables...are these working arcade tables?
