We are leaving 4 weeks from today!

As always I think I am the biggest kid, lol...can't wait! We really enjoy the atmosphere at POP and from the gift shops I have seen, I think the one there is one of the best as far as selection goes.

Will

Will, have a wonderful trip! And we love Everything POP too; great strategy on Disney's part to combine the food court/merchandise area. We always stroll thru on leaving/returning from the parks and of course usually drop some $$. :goodvibes

No roll-away beds are available, but you can use an air mattress in the room. :)

Janet, we saw at least 3 roll away beds when we were at Pop earlier this month. CMs were moving them to rooms for guests. I believe there is an additional charge for them and I don't know how you reserve them, but they are there.

Hey guys. For those of you who have used Garden Grocer, how does it work if you are not at the resort when the delivery is made and there are perishables in the delivery? Does POP have fridges to store stuff in or will they come by your room and put it away? Thanks!

Just wondering, how much time would you give to take bus to epcot and either ride boat or walk to Beach Club? We have reservations for the kids at Sandcastle Club (babysitting) in the evening. And then hubby & I are walking into Epcot for dinner! When I made reservation, I was told that World Showcase was a 10 minute walk from Sandcastle Club.

Thanks, Helen

An option would be to bus to Disney Hollywood Studios and catch the boat ferry over to Beach Club. Probably less walking for the kitties and more fun for them to ride a boat over anyway :thumbsup2

Also no park ticket required (or having to go through a purse/backpack check)

Exiting your bus stop at DHS, instead of heading straight to the park, walk towards the right where you will see large docking area. That is where the friendship boat picks up. Next stop Boardwalk, then Swan/Dolphin, Beach Club finally Epcot. At Epcot, it goes the reverse order. Entire ride GENERALLY takes about 20-25 minutes one way.

After dropping off kids, you can either walk or boat over to Epcot. You will be between England and France.

Going this way I would plan about an hour & half to travel to Beach Club - most likely it won't take that long :) but this allows for missing the bus and the boat by a minute and having to wait 20 minutes for the next one :scared1:

FYI, you can go to Fantasia Gardens WDW mini golf if you exit at the Swan/Dolphin, it is a short walk. It is a really cute disney themed course that is fun to do as a family, but it you'll need to allow even more time if you opt to do this.

That's what I like about WDW - everything is an adventure :woohoo:

Thanks for the great information. I really like this option.

Thanks Sandi...on all my trips I've never seen this! I thought that Disney did not provide them at the Value level.

Appreciate the info very much! :thumbsup2

Sooo, called Disney to confirm ... beds are available, cost is $16.88 including tax. :goodvibes

We were not there when our Garden Grocer order arrived. Bell services had it and had refrigerated our perishables.

Saw something in the last thread about dissers using lime green, but missed the oriinal statement. Seems like it may be fun, can someone explain?
Thanks

I love how you go right to the source to get the answer Janet. You are so helpful!

Good Morning One and All!!

I have a question...I know there are no microwaves in the rooms...however, is there one in the food court for public usage??? I was wondering if we could do a little Micro Popcorn!!

Thanks...

Yes they do.:)

We are going in July and I am really trying to keep from "overplanning" because we will only be there Fri-Mon. However, comfort in the room is important no matter how long you stay!

I was thinking... if I could only bring 3 "extras" what will they be? I mean, beyond simply toiletries and clothes.

Here's my list - what's yours???

1. coffee maker
2. window decorations
3. pop up hamper

Items that I thought about that didn't make the list:
Home pillows, ipod player (white noise), hanging shoe organizer thingy to hang in closet for random stuff, power strip, table basket

My 3 extras this trip are:
1. pop up hamper
2. window/door decorations
3. the shoe organizer

I ♥ the shoe organizer. We took one with us our last trip (last june) and it was super helpful, especially with my 2 younger kids. That way they knew where to put their stuff when we got back to the room and they knew where to find it all in the morning when we were getting ready. I also like it because it keeps stuff out of the way for housekeeping :) This June it will just be me and my 14 year old sister, so it may not be used quite as much, but i'm bringing it anyway. This will be our first time using the pop up hamper, but I see it getting a lot of use (epsecially since we stayed in the poly last time, so i'm a bit concerned about space at the POP, but we'll make it work). I am SUPER excited about doing the door decorations and I'm a bit worried I bought too much stuff. My sister lives in Iowa and I am in Maryland, so I can't get working on putting it all together until she gets here, 3 days before we head to Disney.

Probably more info then you expected or wanted :lmao: but there it is!

I first bought a pop up hamper after staying at my SiL's over Christmas with stuff ALL OVER the guest room - DH, DD, and myself altogether. It really worked awesome that summer at the beach when we didn't have dirty clothes all over, and we could also drape wet swimsuits over the side. I take it EVERYWHERE now! When we leave to go home, we even just put the thing in the back of our SUV instead of repacking dirty clothes! :rotfl:

How did you hang the shoe organizer? I was thinking of just bringing some of DH's twine in the garage and tying it up there?

The room we had at the polly had connecting doors to the next room (not that we knew our neighbors), but we just hung it over the door (it came with little over-the-door-hooks). My plan this time is to put it over the bathroom door.

I like your idea about keeping the dirty clothes in the hamper on the way home, I always HATE re-paking them! Too bad I couldn't just lug it on the plane that way!

I'm off to walmart to get some clothespins to hang up wet swimsuits on the in the bathroom shower cord.
I also have 2 pop up hampers that I use everytime.
I think I will also get some toothbrush covers. We keep most of our stuff in our own toiletry bags but I don't like to leave the toothbrushes out in case housekeeping sprays the sinks with cleaner.

Ok now I have to go shopping. :lmao: We have never stayed onsite before so unsure of the space. It is just DH and I so not sure if we need the shoe organizer. Need to go back and look at the pics of the sink area. I will probably do a load or two of laundry so the pop up hamper would be handy to take back and forth. I will definitely bring a power strip--too many electronics to be searching for plugs. I THINK I can wait for the food court for coffee. We'll see how that goes.
This is a great topic!!! I love all the ideas so far.

Oooh... clothespins!!! Note to self: Add clothespins to packing list...
That can count as a toiletry, right? :rotfl2:

Who am I kidding - we are driving and I'm taking EVERYTHING :upsidedow

Does anyone take their own beach towels? I would like to, but we are flying and I don't think we will have the room. I really don't like the towels there, but oh well.
