Saw something in the last thread about dissers using lime green, but missed the oriinal statement. Seems like it may be fun, can someone explain?
Thanks

Yes, this isn't exclusive to Pop but to DISers in general. A way to identify yourself as a DISer is to use an Alien Green Mickey head Behr paint sample from Home Depot.

I just wanted to stop by and say thank you to Janet and everyone for their work on this thread! :hippie: We are staying at Pop for the first time in a few weeks and this thread has been very instrumental in helping me plan for that trip! I was able to pinpoint where we'd like to stay to make room requests through the pictures, maps and recommendations made here!

I'm so excited for our upcoming vacation and for my family to try out Pop. I hope I will be able to return here and post how 'groovy' our stay was. :wizard:

For lime green ...I got a ribbon at the craft store and tied a bow on my fanny pack...it was near where people could see it..I did meet a few Dis'ers that way...
I am ready to rumble...I mean I am ready to go...one week to go...and I will be a happy Dis'er..

Does anyone know the window dimensions? I am decorating our window for my daughters 5th birthday and I already have a banner at home. Would love to reuse. :) Mine is 5 feet in width, but I probably could fold it back and know off 1 foot on each side.

I first bought a pop up hamper after staying at my SiL's over Christmas with stuff ALL OVER the guest room - DH, DD, and myself altogether. It really worked awesome that summer at the beach when we didn't have dirty clothes all over, and we could also drape wet swimsuits over the side. I take it EVERYWHERE now! When we leave to go home, we even just put the thing in the back of our SUV instead of repacking dirty clothes! :rotfl:

How did you hang the shoe organizer? I was thinking of just bringing some of DH's twine in the garage and tying it up there?

I use magnetic clips to hang the organizer on the room's main door. I'm talking about the type of magnetic hooks like the ones pictured here: http://www.bing.com/shopping/acco-7...q=magnetic+clips&lpq=magnetic clips&FORM=HURE I got mine a Staples. We use them on the fridge at home, too.

I prefer to hang the organizer on the main door because the bathroom door has a full sized mirror on the outside and three robe/towel hooks on the inside -- we used those and I didn't want them covered up.

I saw on another thread that POP's window dimensions are 37 3/4" x 59". Not sure of the depth... Hope it helps!

Here's the link as it shows a number of great resort window decorations!

I can't wait to decorate our window when we get there! We're so close to finishing making the decorations!

Thank you! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Here's another thread about decorating your resort room: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1101182 :rolleyes1

Thank you! too. :goodvibes:goodvibes

I cant wait to start the planning part of the window decorating. Now that my ressies are made for my dining, there really isn't much else to to but pay. lol I am going to tape pieces of banner paper together to the dimensions of the window to organize and see how the window will look. :yay::yay:

My shoe organizer has over-the-door hooks with it and I hang it from the "closet" shelf right next to the sink. I put the luggage rack or a pile of suitcases right behind the organizer to prop it so it stayed straight. I didn't want to hang it on the bathroom door because it would cover the mirror. I always take the magnetic bulldog clips as well as the 3M removable hooks to use but found that hanging it from the shelf works best for us.

I'm so excited!! 30 days from today until our check in at the POP for 11 nights!! Woo hoo:banana::banana: This will be our longest vacation anywhere, ever:goodvibes We loved our stay at the POP, which was 4 nights in January and are so excited to be going back:woohoo:

:woohoo: What a great feeling! Congrats!!

Janet Not a single minute of movie watching! The one night we were going to we ended up seeing Illuminations instead (and it was inside because of earlier rain, not the same experience!) It's ok. Our trip was fine without it and DH decided that Friday night movie night is Aladdin today, so I get my movie with him! :goodvibes

No trip until we have some kiddos to enjoy it with us. We'd definitely go back to Pop though. We liked it a lot.

I loved seeing people's window clings while we were there. There was one room that had big happy birthday clings all over and every time we walked by we said HAPPY BIRTHDAY out loud. They probably didn't hear it, but it was fun to be a part of the celebration!

And allears.net has a really great Disney packing list. It's more than I could ever come up with and more than anyone will ever need!

Thanks for letting me know. I will have to go get some. We are talking about window decorating and it would be fun to include.

Thanks for the tips on the magnetic clips! It is definitely good to know they can be used on the doors. I wanted to use the organizer in the "closet" and put all the random toiletry items in it so we don't spend the weekend digging through the toiletry bag. I hate that. :furious: When we're at Disney, I'm always ready to get dressed and get out the door! :hyper:

That's what I was thinking - hang it in the closet. But, I know those things have flat tops on the hooks and wasn't sure if it would work. Sounds like it will, though! :thumbsup2

So, I have a question for all my fellow Pop lovers. The AOA resort pool rules were released and this pic was posted on the AOA thread. So, how many Pop guests think the AOA guests will try to venture over to Pop's pools at night after their main pool closes at 11. How can they keep Pop guests out of AOA's pool but not AOA guests out of Pop's pool. I for one will be upset if there is an influx of swimmers in Pop's pool at night. I know some nights Pop's main pool can get pretty loud (and fun) with Pop guets, especially after evening EMH hours. It seems like a huge oversight on Disney's part to not come up with a way to keep AOA's guests out of Pop's pool after their's is closed.

So tell me, how many have a feeling we will see AOA guests in Pop's pool at night?

Stacy ... Understand your concern, but I'm not sure how much of an impact this will be. POP pools have posted hours as well, but we have been there and have seen guests using the pool after the pool is supposed to be closed (ourselves as well). Same could happen at AoA. Don't think this will be much of a factor. Plus even though it isn't that far, would guests go to the trouble of crossing over the bridge to use the pool? Guess time will tell, but until then, no worries. :goodvibes

I was thinking... if I could only bring 3 "extras" what will they be? I mean, beyond simply toiletries and clothes.

Here's my list - what's yours???

1. coffee maker
2. window decorations
3. pop up hamper

Items that I thought about that didn't make the list:
Home pillows, ipod player (white noise), hanging shoe organizer thingy to hang in closet for random stuff, power strip, table basket

My 3 extras this trip are:
1. pop up hamper
2. window/door decorations
3. the shoe organizer

I ♥ the shoe organizer. We took one with us our last trip (last june) and it was super helpful, especially with my 2 younger kids. That way they knew where to put their stuff when we got back to the room and they knew where to find it all in the morning when we were getting ready. I also like it because it keeps stuff out of the way for housekeeping :) Probably more info then you expected or wanted :lmao: but there it is!

I'm off to walmart to get some clothespins to hang up wet swimsuits on the in the bathroom shower cord.

Love these ideas! Thinking we will pack the shoe organizer and bring a pop up hamper (Really so appropiate staying at POP don't ya think? :rotfl2: POP should sell them in the merchandise store!! (or DO they??) Clothespins are great too! :thumbsup2
