I just wanted to stop by and say thank you to Janet and everyone for their work on this thread! :hippie: We are staying at Pop for the first time in a few weeks and this thread has been very instrumental in helping me plan for that trip! I was able to pinpoint where we'd like to stay to make room requests through the pictures, maps and recommendations made here!

I'm so excited for our upcoming vacation and for my family to try out Pop. I hope I will be able to return here and post how 'groovy' our stay was. :wizard:

For my part, you are soo welcome!! Very happy that the thread has helped you in planning and getting excited for your trip. :)

This thread has a great following with many knowledge POPers ready to answer questions. :thumbsup2

And YES... have a totally awesome and groovy stay!! :hippie: Definitely would love to hear your thoughts and impressions of POP!

For lime green ...I got a ribbon at the craft store and tied a bow on my fanny pack...it was near where people could see it..I did meet a few Dis'ers that way...
I am ready to rumble...I mean I am ready to go...one week to go...and I will be a happy Dis'er..

:banana: Have a wonderful time pumba!!

Can anyone give me an idea of how long the walk is from POP to AoA to use the food court?

Stacy ... Understand your concern, but I'm not sure how much of an impact this will be. POP pools have posted hours as well, but we have been there and have seen guests using the pool after the pool is supposed to be closed (ourselves as well). Same could happen at AoA. Don't think this will be much of a factor. Plus even though it isn't that far, would guests go to the trouble of crossing over the bridge to use the pool? Guess time will tell, but until then, no worries. :goodvibes

I hope so Janet! I know we are a family that enjoys a late, late swim also along with many other Pop guests (we're rebels, lol). You're right, only time will tell. :thumbsup2 Hopefully, AOA guests stay away completely and don't ruin our ability to get away with "breaking" the rules :)

Can anyone help with a location request? I will be coming by myself Memorial Day weekend. My daughter is at Disney for the College Program and will be joining me for 2 of the three nights. I would like to be in a relatively quite location, not too far from a pool, and near the Classic Hall and Transportation. I have a standard view room booked. What would be a good request?

Thanks Pop Peeps!

jb :thumbsup2

I use magnetic clips to hang the organizer on the room's main door. I'm talking about the type of magnetic hooks like the ones pictured here: http://www.bing.com/shopping/acco-7...q=magnetic+clips&lpq=magnetic clips&FORM=HURE I got mine a Staples. We use them on the fridge at home, too.

I prefer to hang the organizer on the main door because the bathroom door has a full sized mirror on the outside and three robe/towel hooks on the inside -- we used those and I didn't want them covered up.

My shoe organizer has over-the-door hooks with it and I hang it from the "closet" shelf right next to the sink. I put the luggage rack or a pile of suitcases right behind the organizer to prop it so it stayed straight. I didn't want to hang it on the bathroom door because it would cover the mirror. I always take the magnetic bulldog clips as well as the 3M removable hooks to use but found that hanging it from the shelf works best for us.

Both great ideas of where to hang the organizer! :thumbsup2 I'm definitely bringing one in August ... even though we have 2 rooms, my daughter has enough crap (umm important stuff) to fill one herself!! :rotfl2:

JB: We love the lake view rooms and would recommend bldgs 4 or 5 (60s) as the standard rooms are all lake view in this section, are quiet and are a quick walk around the bldg to get to the main pool. Also, a friend of mine stayed in the 80s/90s bldg 9 (solo trip) and she liked it very much... close to busing and fairly close to Classic Hall. We ask for an upper floor (usually 4th) as those floors tend to be quieter. The 70s (bldg 10 & 6) are also nice (no pool in this section, but you can easily use the computer or main pool). :)

JB :)

Stacy ... look at it this way ... the Finding Nemo pool will be the largest pool on property ...and supposed to have designs in and around the pool ... maybe we rebels can show by example and "pop" on over and check out it out! :rotfl2: ... we can claim we are just being neighborly and spreading some POP love ... :hippie:  Two can play at the game, right??

How late is the bar usually open until?

Generally the bar is open from 12pm - midnight. Closing may vary slightly in cooler/slower times. :goodvibes

Not sure but remember that Animation Hall is located in front of the Finding Nemo section, which mirrors the 60s location to Classic Hall. So from the 60s area just factor in the walk across the bridge and than the span it would take you in the 60s area to reach Classic Hall .... Does this make any sense at all??? :upsidedow

My parents finally called. She said they are really enjoying pop. The only real thing my dad misses is the celing fan of all things. She said the room is really clean and they are in a preferred room in the 50's. She said now that they are there they would have liked to been in the 60's. But she did mention that the main pool was really loud. they have ben enjoying the 50's pool and have ate at the food court quite a bit. But my mom said my dad would stay there again.:)

If they have a gate at AOA you may not be able to get in after 11pm. That may be why another reason why they gated it.

Yes it does and THANKS!!:hippie:

The coffee makers are coming right after they install the hot tub and water slide.;)

I wouldn't count too much on the wifi. It is there but it barely works unless you are in the main building. Also trouble connecting during "peak" times. aka when everyone is at the resort and not the parks!

Hey, all you POPers! We booked POFQ for June 21-25 and then added a night but couldn't get POFQ, so GUESS WHAT? We're staying at POP the 20th-21st! We've never stayed there but DD wanted to check it out, so here we are! I assume it will be easy enough to have our luggage transferred over to POFQ? And then having ME drop us off at POP then pick us up at POFQ shouldn't be a problem, right? I'm excited to see the resort and hopefully become a POP lover too!

This june will be my first stay at the POP as well. I'm really hoping I love it! Last june we went and stayed at the Poly (my husband had just gotten back from Afghanistan, so we went all out) and fell in love with it. It would be nice to fall in love with somewhere a bit more affordable!!:rotfl: In september we have a trip planned at the Contemporary, but we wanted to stay at a monorail resort since we will have 3 little ones, we figure it will make coming back for naps easier! However, if POP goes over well, I have a feeling we will be staying there for quite a few future trips!
