My family and I are going to stay at Pop Century in January. We have a package beginning ont he 21st, butwill arrive around 8 Pm on the 19th ( we are flying from Germany). So on the 20th we will be doing Hoop Dee Doo, and I was wonderingt he quickest way to get there, and get back. What we'll probably end up doing for the day is exploring the new resort, and then going over to the petting zoo and things for the kids. So how do I get to FW to begin withm then how do I get from the petting zoo to Hoop Dee Doo, and back to Pop? Any help is appreciated. And I konw its off topic, but does anyone konw how cold it gets the end of January? Thanks a lot for any help!! MB

Funny you should ask this - I was just mapping this same thing out - we're staying at PC in February (and by the way, we switched this vacation from March where we would have been staying at Shades of Green). And, also off topic, did you get a Shades rate for PC or are you just staying there with the normal awesome rates? We are just using the AAA rate.

Anyways, back to your question, My favorite way would be to take the buses to the TTC and then take Monorail to the Contemporary and take the boats to FtW (you go out through the bottom floor of the Contemporary and go to the end of the boat dock). You land right at the Pioneer Hall. That way you avoid three buses and the way that most will tell you to go: one bus from PC to TTC, one from TTC to FtW check-in, and one from FtW check-in to Pioneer Hall. I stayed at FtW in May and I HATE the buses. The boats are the way to go - peaceful and scenic. However, you may have to return to PC after the show using the bus system and not the boats as the park hours are reduced during some of January and the boats will stop running when the parks are closed. So in this case you would take a bus back out to the front of FtW and then take a bus to TTC and then the bus back to PC - but again, check with PC when you arrive and see what they suggest as the buses from TTC back to PC may not run after the parks are closed as well. We found that taking a cab was far better and well worth it sometimes.

Have Fun - HOOP DEE DOO ~ HOOP DEE DOO (waving my knapkin over my head). It is a blast! :Pinkbounc

Oh, I just reread your post again, the Petting Zoo is right at Pioneer Hall - remember to check in for HDDR a half hour prior but before that you can spend all the time you want in the petting zoo and do pony rides and just walk around and see the peacocks which entertained my one year old to no end.

And, check www.wdwig.com for historic weather temps - its a tricky time of year - someitmes cold, sometimes warm (upper sixties). Jackets and layers are the way to go - and remember that it will get cold at night so bring warm clothes to HDDR so if you feel like it, and have gone ot the early show, you can check out the campfire afterwards and see Chip and Dale.

By the way, hopefully others will come along and give you the way to do it to DTD - as this is the way to do it after park hours. Basically take the buses from FtW to DTD and then grab the PC bus from DTD - but I have never done this so others will have to lend some guidance here.

Thanks fort he info! It will help out a lot. I used the Disney Visa package for the 21-27 so the kids get free tickets and we get $100 disney dollars! for the 2 nights before, I got an SOG rate of $59 plus tax, so I thought that was pretty good! Thanks again fort he information, I'm sure the weather will be warmer than here in Germany where it is already in the 30's! I can't wait for Disney, and I hear Hoop Dee Doo is great! I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future, this board is VERY helpful!! MB

Take the bus to the MK and then hop the boat over to FW. Thats your most direct way. You could bus to DTD and then bus to FW, but I think it would take longer and not have the fun boat ride.

There are no buses from Pop Century to the TTC. As for the internal buses from the TTC, they drop off directly at the Settlement, and then continue on to the Outpost. No need to transfer.

There are two ways to get to Fort Wilderness for the HDDR:

1 - Take the bus to the MK, and then take the boat to Fort Wilderness. Boat drops off near Pioneer Hall.

2 - Take the bus to the Studios, and switch to the Fort Wilderness bus. The FW bus from the Studios drops off directly at the Settlement, there is no need to take any internal buses.

To get back -- There is a chance that they might be running resort buses from the Settlement Depot after the HDDR show. No one can give me a straight answer, so I can't guarantee it will be after your specific show. If not, use the MK or Studios for a transfer point. If MK or Studios are closed, then you can use Epcot or DTD for a transfer point. If it's before 10:00, from the Settlement, take the bus marked TRAN/TICKET CTR to the TTC, and hop on the Epcot Monorail. From there, catch the bus to PC.

If you need to use DTD for a transfer point, catch any bus that says OUTPOST. From the Outpost, catch a DTD bus. From DTD, catch a PC bus.

By the way, if you read this - I don't hate the drivers of the buses, just the loading, unloading, holding my DS in my arms while he is either hyper or cranky tired. I really appreciate what you do - and I am going to appreciate you even more at PC. Congrats again!

:jumping1: Thanks Tyler, I had no idea there wouldn't be a TTC bus from PC (I am a naive former FtW resident). I love the studios idea. I didn't remember that the bus went to the Settlement. But I still love the idea of getting there by boat. And thanks for giving some hope to getting back.
