2. Which building is it best to request for buses?

3. How are the rooms?

4. How is the lobby?

5. Any comments or things we should know??????

THANKS!!!!!!!!!! :)

I'll just POP! your question over to the Disney Resorts Board:goodvibes

(We stayed at Pop over Christmas, and loved it - hope you will too!)

:sunny:

oops! misread the board.

THANKS for moving it!!!!!!

We've stayed at POP in 2005 and 2006 and will return there this July. We love it! It's Disney to the fullest!

The food court has lots of menu choices - you can see them here via allearsnet site link:

http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm#res

You MUST have the Twinkie Tiramisu!!

Here's a link to a map of the resort to answer your question about being close to buses:

The rooms are fairly standard rooms - mostly two double/full size beds, bathroom with one sink. The doors open out to exterior walkways. The walls are not super well sound-proofed, so if you get a noisy group outside your room, you might hear them. One trick is to turn on the bathroom fan or the AC fan which helps with the noise a bit.

The lobby is nice, spacious with an area for kids to hang out in while you check out. It's connected to the awesome gift shop (make your own box of Mr. Potato Head parts-my favorite :)) and food court area. The arcade is also in the main building off the lobby. The lobby has lots of neat nostalgic items from the different decades.

We love POP!

We love it, except that it's the smokiest of all the WDW resorts--not sure we'll be staying there again unless they really enforce the designated smoking areas. We'll see.

The food court is decent--food isn't great, but there are lots of choices.

I personally don't think any of the buildings are too far from the buses--the set up is very nice and I don't think you're more than a 5 minute walk no matter where you stay.

The rooms are cute and clean.

The lobby has a great gift shop plus an arcade where DH and I have whiled away a few minutes playing air hockey. :rolleyes1 The food court is right off the gift shop and there's also a bar if you are so inclined.

We spent 10 nights at Pop at the beginning of May and really enjoyed it. To answer your questions:

1. The food court was good but can get busy at peak times like morning right before the parks open or when the parks close but we didn't find it too bad. There is a good selection of a variety of foods at the different food stations plus lots in the refrigerated section like milk, juice, fruit, prepackaged sandwiches, etc. The refillable mug is the way to go as well.

2. We were in building 9, which we thought was close to the buses. But I don't think you are very far from them no matter where your room is. Bus service was great, IMHO. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. The Pop bus stops at the parks seemed to always be the last ones though so there is a bit of a walk there. We also found that, even though there were big line ups when the parks closed, bus service was increased. On our last night at MK after watching Spectro Magic and Wishes, 3 buses came at once, which we were fortunate enough to get on one of them!

3. We found the rooms fine. They were a bit small but adequate for our needs. We have 9 year old twins and we did fine. We didn't spend a lot of time in our room anyway.

4. The lobby is inviting and spotlessly clean. Check-in for us was smooth. There is the concierge desk, which we didn't use, the arcade, and Everything Pop, which includes the gift shop and food court.

5. We loved it and can't wait to go back!!! The walk around the lake along the path is very enjoyable, especially at night. Enjoy and have a great time.

Here is another very comprehensive thread you should check out as well:

This worries me - DH is highly allergic - I thought that all of the resorts had non-smoking rooms.

I am allergic to smoke and my DD has asthma and we were not bothered by smokers except maybe at the benches by the bus stop. Our non-smoking room was fine.

We stayed there mid to late May and loved it. We didn't see many smokers at all and now Disney is supposed to be smoke free, I believe. I probably saw about 3 smokers the whole time we were there and we were there for 7 days. What smokers I did see were at designated spots. We stayed in the 50s section, building 1, and didn't think it was that far from buses but probably 70s and 80s would be closer to the bus stop, in my opinion. Never stayed in 70s or 80s but just seemed closer as it was more towards that end of the resort. Beds were comfortable in my opinion. Rooms are about the size of any other motel/hotel that I have stayed at. My hubby and I are not small people and we both slept in a double just fine even though we are used to a king bed at home. Food court was nothing really to complain about but we mostly ate sandwiches and such in our room to save on money. Every morning CMs were outside washing down stairs and sidewalks and cleaning the bid themed icons they have everywhere. Really surprised at how well kept the resort was. CMs very courteous and mousekeeper was super sweet. She always asked if there was anything we needed and if there were any problems. We ate pizza there one night and it was okay, not the best that I have eaten but I think that is really just a personal preference of pizza choices.

Looks like your questions have been well answered. I'll just cast another vote for POP. We stayed there a few years ago and enjoyed it, would certainly stay again.

Food court had lots of seating and we liked the food choices. We also liked being able to "shop" for foods without having to get in line everytime for counter service. It was nice to pop in quickly on the way to the buses and grab some fruit or sweet rolls.

The lake area of the hotel is home to turtles, ducks, etc. There were some machines that dispensed food for the critters. Very nice to stroll along the waters edge for a break from people & parks.

Be advise all rooms are smoke Free as of June. Also I stayed here last November and I did not care for the room too small for my taste but OK. Just one thing the poster few post back said the doors open out to walkway that is incrroect they open inwards. This was something that bothered me as I felt like I had to craw over the bed in order to get into the room unless you make sure you open it all the way. The food court was good except for the coffee (Gross) Bus service was OK but can be very busy in the mornings.

I always get the sloppy Joe at the food court. YUM!!

My daughters both have very bad allergies & one has asthma. We stayed in the 60's buildings and didn't have a problem with smoke. We loved the food court, especially the tye-dyed cheescake & the icee machine! Enjoy your trip!

1. How is the food court?? the food court is good. it wouldn't be worth driving offsite(off WDW property that is) What types of items do they have there? little bit of everything. salads, hot dogs, pizza, chicken.

2. Which building is it best to request for buses? 60's,80's or 90's i would think.

3. How are the rooms? great we never had a problem with the rooms at PC.

4. How is the lobby? this is one of the coolest lobbys i've ever seen. all of the things you saw as a kid(if you are old enough to remeber that is)

5. Any comments or things we should know? we love it for a resoer you won't be spending money on to do more then sleep in. it's a fun resort that will bring back tons of memories!! DW and i are returning to PC for our kid free trip in 4 months!!! can wait to get back there!!

Here's a good tip. Don't make the mistake we make everytime we go there. In the elevators there's pictures of their pizza! No matter how tempting it may look, it'll be gross everytime!! LOL.

We love Pop - This will be our third time there. We were there July 2005, End of July/August 2006 and this July.

The food court is ok as far as food courts go. In 2005 I tried two of the flatbreads on 2 different occasions and didn't enjoy them. Last year I had chicken fingers and french fries and they were really good. So was the ceasar salad!!

We don't take buses anymore, we drove to all of the parks last year except when DD and I took the bus home from Downtown Disney. It took several hours, and is the reason I don't like to take buses. One year we waited over 2 hours for a bus from MK. That was the last time we took a bus, it was too much late at night.

We have stayed both times in the 70's building facing the lake. We love it back there. It's quite and peaceful. We have requested the same area this year.

The rooms are small, but adequate for our family of 4. We don't need anything huge when we are in our rooms so little. Last year we only got 2 towels and 2 washcloths the first full day after we arrived after the maid had done our rooms. I called up and asked for more asked to make sure we had 4 towels since there were 4 of us. There was always more than 4 from that point on.

We stayed at the POP last September.

The food court has a nice selection and there is a small market with snacks, fruit, drinks and sandwiches.

We stayed in the 70's. I don't know which building number is was but the walk to the buses was short. We thought the bus service was great.

Rooms are nice but small.

The lobby is really only good for checking in, but there is a nice gift shop and a small arcade. If you are looking for a place to hangout with your party most people seemed to use the food court seating area.

I don't think you can pick your building but you can make requests. Get a map of the resort and try to figure out with building you would perfer based on pool loctions, bus pick-up, and food court.
