Hello! Well we made the switch from POR to Pop today for our 1st trip to Disney in March. My parents decided not to come with us and their comfort was a major reason we booked POR to begin with. So we decided to save some money on the room to have more to spend at the parks. But until now I had not thought about room requests. Since we already called and changed our reservation, can we add a room request or am I too late? We have two young kids and will be taking afternoon breaks at the hotel so it would be ideal to be in a quieter area for naps. I also would prefer not to be too far from the food court. How do we make requests - can you make more than one type of request like building, quiet, close to food court? Help please! Thanks!

Your room doesn't get assigned until much closer to your trip so you can definitely make requests still. I'd call and have something like "a quiet room for afternoon naps and break but still not far from the food court". I've found requesting certain buildings and floors disappointing - not that Disney didn't try but *I* had it in my head I was going to be in building six on the highest floor. So I make requests but more generally now and it's working.

If you booked a Preferred Room then you would be closer to the food court already.

Just an fyi.... Many of the preferred rooms at POP are very close to the main pool (the Hippy Dippy pool) and if you are looking for quiet afternoons, this may not be your best option. Every afternoon there are games, activities, and dance parties on the pool deck. They are often quite loud. Great fun for the families in the pool, but probably not the best for napping kids in nearby rooms. Have a great trip... hope you love Pop as much as we do!

March there are also many school groups for dance, cheers, track etc. They tend to put them in the 90's area. In January the entire Bldg 8 was Tour Groups and a few of us families. It was miserable. Out of control even at 1 am each night. Last month I made sure to request my room in Bldg 3 facing the lake. In 12 days I never saw another person either direction on our floor :thumbsup2 Once stayed in Bldg 6, quick walk to main pool and food court, very quiet, looked at lake and not a bad walk now across bridge to eat at AoA.

I like to request the 60's section, lake view. It's close to the food court, quiet and i also like the proximity to the bridge that leads over to Art of Animation. This location offers us easy use of both food courts (Pop and AoA) as well as we use both bus sytems depending on whose line is shorter when we're headed back to the resort.

I agree with a previous poster that you don't want to face the pool, especially in the afternoon as their are many activities taking place with music and announcements being made by cast members.
