Pop Century Room Renovations

I took that original post to be referring to a "picture" of a completed room. I didn't think @FinnsMom7 was talking about rooms being finished and put in to inventory -- just that no photos of a finished room had been leaked. I could be wrong (and my kids can probably provide you with a long list of other times I've been wrong over the last 30 years :D) but that's how I read it.

Gotcha. I would be very surprised if there were any photos leaked of a completed room, not just one of the mock-ups. WDW is usually very protective of these things getting out before they want them to.

Very much enjoying the updates :)
I'll be there in 46 days!! I'd love think that some rooms would be ready by then but who knows??!! I have requested connecting rooms otherwise I'd make a hopeful request for newly renovated ones. But I can always wish that I magically get both...wouldn't that be a bit off pixie dust!!:tink:

You are CORRECT!! I meant more details/info this far out with only 1 month until they are supposed to release the new rooms into inventory - I am sure there are completed rooms by now, even if they are just missing the last finishing touches.

I also hope what everyone is assuming is correct, the start was slow but it will pick up. Between room renos and now the bridge/gondola footings I just hope December isn't chaos

I can't wait to see the new rooms! We requested 80s/90s for our trip, but we're okay with whatever - it sure would be nice to have a refurbished room, though!

I'm going to print out this post and hang it on my refrigerator to show my kids that I *am* right sometimes. :D

Does it look like the refrigerators will go away in the refurb? I don't mind the table being under the Murphy bed, especially if the beds end up being queens because that space has to come from somewhere. But it doesn't seem like a refrigerator would fit under the coffee maker.

Somewhere in all of this, one of our intrepid reporters mentioned new refrigerators with "see through doors" (glass?), and the manager our poster talked to said that the new fridges are actual "refrigerators" whereas the old ones were technically "beverage coolers." (I'm not sure of the difference.)

I was under the impression that there was a new piece of furniture going where the table was in the old rooms, a hutch-like piece referred to somewhere as a "beverage center" with the coffee maker on it; I figured the new fridge would go under/in that space, no problem.

Edit: aha, our reporter answered this while I was typing. :thumbsup2

I'm getting really excited about seeing a completed renovated room! I LOVE everything about what is planned for the rooms. Thanks @DisneyRunner2009 for sharing the fixture images :)

When I booked my 2 week FD BB offer last September for this September, I requested a renovated room. Two weeks in a renovated room would be awesome!

From google, it looks like a refrigerator is colder than a beverage cooler. I was walking by, running by or playing Pokemon Go in that area. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Who wouldn't look, if the doors are open, lights are on and there is a small tear high in the plastic. Talking to a manager, also helped.

With the queen bed, coffee maker, see-through fridge, and the gondola system, it almost seems like Pop is turning into a Moderate. I love that improvements are being done but I hope the price stays the way it is (other than the obvious yearly increase). It's getting hard to ignore that Pop is/will be offering considerably more than All Stars.

I believe Pop is already a little more expensive than the All Star resorts and I suspect it will jump a little bit higher once all of the improvements are completed. Or maybe they'll start doing a similar refurb at the All Star Resorts????? I do feel like Pop/AoA are already a step above the All Star resorts but that's most likely simply because they're newer. Maybe Pop/AoA will be Tier 1 Value resorts and the All Stars will be Tier 2. :D

Rumor has it they are going to be eliminating resort level categories and going to location categories. MK area, Epcot area, etc.

Oh, that's right....I remember reading about that recently.

Funny you should mention All Stars. After talking with said manager, it was mentioned that Music or Movies was up for refurbishment after POP. This person couldn't remember which one exactly. I agree, hope prices don't rise too much.

No.

The bed side of the room is to be a Queen Bed, Full Murphy Bed with Table attached and wall mounted cube nightstands.

The other side where the fridge is now looks to have a fridge built into a "beverage center" type cabinet with coffee maker. A fridge would have no problem fitting into a cabinet, they make small ones.

We haven't seen photos of the remainder of the wall but I think we can assume some type of cabinet and tv.

The question is what kind it will be. Folks are saying it will be a clear door fridge but the test rooms showed a cabinet with a door. It makes more sense to stop putting them behind doors where heat builds and often causes issues. So if it is clear door ........... here are the ones showing online as being installed at Coronado Springs so you can see it easily fits.
