Pop Century resort

We just came back about 4 weeks ago and stayed at POP. We were two adults and 2 kids (3yo and 5yo). It was fine. We were on the back of the 40's, facing the lake and it was nice and quiet there. The food was fine and the pools were fine.

However, that being said, the time we spent at the food court and the pools, we felt it was just a little too hectic for us. Lots of noise and people going every which way. We decided our next trip we will move up and not stay at any of the All-Star or Pop.

We are planning a trip to pop in September, it will be our first visit there, but I have only heard great things about that resort. I know if you look under the countdown threads there is some great posts regarding POP. I dont know how to post the thread or I would do it. :)

We have stayed at the Pop the last 4 years and love it. There are 4 of us mom, dad, DD13 and DS9. When I booked this year, we couldn't get ressie at the Pop and I was bumbed:sad2: After numerous calls, I was finally able to swithch and all is well again. :rotfl: We love it!

But OMG I Loved it. The huge icons had me thinking - uhmmm dont want to feel like I am in a cartoon :) But it is SOOOOOO disney - and I am a child of the 70's so walking to the food court the first night and in the background Staying Alive is playing and I found myself strutting and loving the music :)

That said - being a child of the 70's, a day in the park makes me NEED a hottub - I wish they added hottubs and slides to the values :(

Love it! It's my favorite value resort. Yes, it can be crazy and noisy at times, but the back side of the resort, along the lake is wonderfully peaceful!!

We stayed there last September and loved it! I don't have anything to compare it to though because it was my first time staying onsite. The busses were always fast. We were in the 50's section building one on the ground floor. It was so close to the bus stop and main building. Planning on staying there again on our next trip.

We stayed there last November (Me, DH and DS3). It was great! DH and I had previously stayed at ASMu and I have to say, I like that we didn't have to share a bus when we were staying at POP. You got on the bus and you went. We had a preferred room in the 50s section. We didn't have to walk too far. It has a great theme...from the huge icons to the awesome check-in area. They have a great walking/jogging path that has signs with important times in history. It was very clean and comfortable. We are going back in September and will be staying at POP again.

We must of been there around the same time. We were in the 70's building from April 20 - 29. The pools were great. The foodcourt was good if you wanted to fight the crowds. We bought refillable mugs and sometimes we would buy a soda from the machine instead of fighting to fill your mug. As you we filling your mug - there would be 2 or 3 people trying to fill their mugs. I had someone knock over my coffee because they could not wait 2 seconds and needed sugar asap.

We LOVE POP!!!!! Always stay building 1 I think it is in the 50's section. Down at the far end just above the 50's pool. Never been to noisy for us yet very close to the pool an food court an bus stop. But we also stay on the 4th floor above all the noise. Never have anyone walking past our room because we on on the very end.

Hmmmmmmmm.....maybe I'll get a refillable mug the MINUTE we get there so I can get in and out of the food court quickly:rotfl: !! We're planning on bringing breakfast bars with us so we can avoid the food court in the mornings because I read on several sites that it's like feeding time at the zoo in there!! How is it for lunch and dinner? As crazy? We were planning on having dinner there a few times as well.

Wow, that sounds great! Thanks so much for your input!! Not too much longer before we go, but yet it still seems like it's taking forever!!! Which pool is the best? How about for just adults?

Lemme know!

Pop is the only Disney resort I have stayed at and we loved it! We stayed in the 50's section facing the lake. Nice and quiet. The pools and the food court could get noisey but it is Disney there are lots of kids which can get noisey but at Disney you should expect kids. The resort is colorful and fun. I can't compare it to a deluxe resort but I went for fun not for luxurious and quiet.:thumbsup2

Okay, so we are a week plus back now and can tell you that we enjoyed the POP very much. It was very fun, colorful and simply clever. But, it was also a very busy place. Lots of guests going in every different direction you are right! Still, you can still get around easy enough, the stores and food court run efficinetly, and the cast members as always, very pleasant! Hip-hip hooray for the Pop Century! A fabulous pick! :thumbsup2

Good night!
