I have some POP questions, too....
2. How does the Disney transportation work? Do you get on a random bus with 70 other people wanting to go to 70 different locations? What if I'm the 70th location? How long will I have to ride on a bus to get to where I want to go? Or does a bus come along that says where its going and I look for the one going where I want to go?
3. Is there a way to request a building? Or a way to find out what you got before you get there? I don't have to have the best (60's?) but my dh and I loved the 80's and that would be neat for us to see.
To original question about coffee pot: no coffee pots, and I've heard what another poster relayed that you can't request one either. Coffee is avaiable through the food court (including by the refillable mug program). The Pop buildings nearest the food court are the 60's ("preferred" room, costs ~$10 extra), the 70's and 50's.
To skip ahead to question #3 above, you can request a building, floor, etc., but none of these are guaranteed. You might do a search in this forum on what other wisdom people have left about room requests. My personal opinion is that just because the 60's building is "preferred", it is not necessarily the best (for my family anyway). It looked more noisy when we were there than the other more remote locations because the largest pool is there. Our room on the 3rd floor of the 70's building was perfectly quiet, but I'm sure it depends more on your luck in getting quiet neighbors. Others have posted that they request 4th floor rooms so they at least won't have upstairs neighbors. Even if you don't stay in the 80's where the icons match your fond memories, you can walk right over to see them. The icons are BIG, hard to miss! We enjoyed strolling to see all of the sections' icons.
Back to Q#2: we were perfectly happy with the Disney transportation. The buses pick up in a large area to the 70's/80's side of the main lobby/food court area. The areas for pickup are well-marked for the destination park, so you just walk into the line appropriate for your park (or Downtown Disney, ?maybe something else, too). We were always able to get on the 1st or 2nd bus that came for each destination, never more than 20 minutes wait (more often much shorter, depended on the time of day). The bus to the MK seemed to take maybe 15 minutes, don't know about other parks. The 60's building, while not the most distant bldg.from the bus stop, is not the closest either (again, for me, not worth the extra $10).
Hope that helps. Have a good time!
