Pop Century question... we have a preferred room,

cuz that was the only thing available for free dining. However, I'd really like to request something "quieter"... I have a 2yo and a 1yo and don't want to be near the busy-ness of the pool and such. Is there such a thing as a preferrd room that faces the lake, or would be in a quieter location?

If not, would they put me in a non-preferred and I could still pay preferred rate?

It sounds like they put you in a preferred room because there were no non-preferred rooms available with free dining, so they probably wouldn't be able to put you in a non-preferred room even if you were willing to pay the higher price (if I understand your question correctly).

Most of the preferred rooms do face the pools or they are closest to Classic Hall (food court) but do not face the pools. There are some quieter preferred rooms in the 50s, 60s and 70s that don't face the pool, but none of them look out over the lake, they look towards Classic Hall or the parking area.

You can call Central Reservations and tell them the situation and see if they can put a "quiet room" or "non-pool view" on your reservation request. They can't guarantee your rooom location, but it doesn't hurt to put in a request, and also ask when you check in.
