Even though it was Thanksgiving week, Goofy was not on vacation. He was still keeping watch over the kids in the water jets.

That wonderful sign I'll be seeing again in mid-March.

One of the only things left that has the Pop Century logo.

All the Pop t-shirts are gone, along with the sweatshirts and the key chains and mugs and anything else.

I heard rumors that they are closing a Value and a mod. due to the economy, this scares me too !! Anyone heard anything along these lines ???

I've heard the same rumors, but I don't think the two are related. They've been having less and less Pop logo stuff out over the past year and a half. They used to have several t-shirts, a couple of sweatshirts, cold mugs, coffee cups, keychains, stickers, etc. On one trip, they were down to just a few things all gathered up at one of the checkout desks, and they were selling the Pop coffee mugs for about a dollar apiece. I got a few, and I asked why they were selling out the Pop merchandise. They didn't seem to really know, other than they were doing what they were told.

The All Star Resorts don't have shirts and all like they used to, either. Sports had a few resort specific ones, but I didn't see any in Music. I can't remember about Movies.

The word on the boards seems to be that Pop will be the one to close, if there are temporary closures, because it's the least popular, but that doesn't sound right to me. I would think Sports would be. But, since they've been working on refurbing the All Stars, maybe they're going to do that, then close parts of Pop for a while to refurb. I surely don't know, and I doubt many people, including Pop CMs, even do. That's all just throwing out guesses and speculations.

This will be an interesting year to watch as far as what Disney does. I do know that we are booked for two Pop trips - one in March and one in July - and no one said anything about it not being open.

I would have loved a Pop Tshirt! If they are changing the name, you would have thought they would have kept a few things around anyway.

I also read that one awhile ago. That is what was scaring me. I sure hope it doens't happen, but "supposedly" they have already built or started building a model of it.

I also find it hard that pop is least popular. I have read statistics, and pop seems to fal lonly slightly under all stars, but Pop is bigger too. The reason though I would think they would temporarily close pop, is that the All stars are all together, while pop is out all alone. They are still booking it though. But I'll tell you what, if I booked Pop and then was moved to As sports I would be sooo mad. So I hope they tell these people before hand if they are moving them and to where. (though an upgrade would be kind of cool. LOL!)

There are several threads addressing the Pop closing !! It is just RUMOR !!Disney will take care of any with ressies IF it should happen !!Could mean an upgrade . Much as I like Pop I would be thrilled to be upgraded to AKL !!!

Yeah, I saw some of those too, but most were talking about it just temporarily closing. I would hate for it to be permanant. I just love the place.

I just LOVE POP and the whole themed resort (Hippy Dippy Pool,pipped in music ,icons etc.), so much nicer than any of The All Stars Resorts!
Please don't close or re-invent my POP.
My last 2 stays have been at POP and I'd love to go again this August !

I just got off the phone with my travel agent and asked about the rumors. She said she knew nothing about and that she would call Disney and find out then get back to me.
