im loving looking at everyone's pop pics! they are incredible! were currently deciding between pop and asmovies. does anyone have a pic of the bathrooms? i know i know weird but i like to see what the restrooms look like. when we stayed at movies in 05 i think we were in a wheelchair accessible one- there was no tub- shower and toilet ran together- very messy. is this how it is with all value resorts?

Just posted some pictures of the interior of the rooms.

yes we did have a king room- as it was only me and dh at the time. it was nice to have a bigger bed, but man there was water all over the toilet by the time either of us was done in the shower.

That was a wheelchair accessible room because the regular room has a tub. Did you have a king room? Some of the king rooms are set up for wheelchairs, I don't think any of the rooms with doubles are.

thanks jenseib- im off to take a look. i made it ten pages in and that took forever!!! lol

mauimouse- thanks for the pics- our bathroom was huge but when you take a tub out you get more room! lol

I think page 19 has a picture of the bathroom. In the first post I added page
numbers where you can find bathroom/room pictures.

yep i took a look at page 19. we definetly had the wheelchair accessable room. the upside it was huge, the down if someone needed to use the toilet after someone had been in the shower- you had to mop the floor up wipe the toilet and pray the tp didnt get wet!

You're gonna think I'm crazy, But I always ask for a handicap room because I love the shower!

We have never had a problem with wet toilet or toilet paper though. I just love the size and also the fold out bench. Great for shaving my legs! Like you said, the only downside is a wet floor. But since both my husband and I usually shower and go in the morning, it didn't bother us much. It was always dry when we returned after a fun day.

Also like the king bed too, and we usually have a small fridge that comes with a handicap room. Or at least it always has with ours. We've never had to pay extra.

Blessings,
Winnie

its not crazy but sad- Does Disney have enough handicapped rooms for all their disabled guest>?

Many times I have to get a handicapped room for my mom but cant because they are always taken.

We had a difficult time getting a handicapped room last year. I travel with my friend who is disabled, and she needs the accessible room. I wish that Disney would bump people (not disabled people, of course) out of those rooms when someone who needs it requests it. We did finally get an accessible room, and so were able to enjoy the trip. We will have one again next week!

Wow! Thanks for the flames. I guess I should have mentioned I have arthritus and spurs in my right hip and lower back. So I have a time getting in and out of tub showers. My husband re-did our own bath with a walk in shower because of it. So perhaps you should ask specifically before you throw flames. And I guess I could have been more medically specific as to why I liked the handicap shower. But I did not realize I would get flamed leaving that info out. Sorry!

You may think I'm lying, but that's ok. I had considered writing it in my previous response, but didn't want to sound pitiful. The bench is nice for my back. It is always really tight in the morning, and being able to sit in the shower helps.

Just because someone doesn't have an obvious handicapp, doesn't mean they don't have one. It has been suggested by my doctor that I use an electric scooter when doing the parks. I actually have one. But my chiropractor and I agree it's best that I continue to move as best I can. So I do. But I love the walk in shower.

Blessings just the same,
Winnie

Winnie-- Im sorry that you took my posts as flames- You DID post that you booked the handicapped room because you love the shower.
Many people book these rooms JUST BECAUSE of the bigger bathrooms--let alone bigger rooms then normal. To each their own ok- Its a pet peeve of mine since people have to do without because of rooms not available.

im not sure if they do have enough or not. when dh and i went in 05 we were asked by our ta if we wanted two doubles or a king sized bed. we sleep in a queen at home and knew a double'd be awful so we asked for king. so perhaps the kingsized are automatically handicapped?

coincidently enough im trying to figure out how to book a closer room this year. i dont specifaically need a handicapped room, but our dd who will be four by the time we visit has cp, and wears an eye patch so she has depth perception problems and has hard times walking long distacnes. our ta suggested paying for a preferrred room altho i dont think we should have to pay extra to be closer for i guess what you would call "medical reasons". but then i dont want to take a handicapped room(plus theres four of us and we woudlnt fit in it!).

when we went in 05 we payed for a prefered room to be closer to the pool- joke! we were in fanatasia but the back part of it and it was still a hike- and that was obvioulsy a handicapped room. if i had payed extra for a handicapped room for that reason id want my money back!

I think the fault on rooms lies with Disney. When someone needs a room for a disability they should automatically be assigned a room. I always request a King room when I am traveling alone with my husband. Now I would never want to take a room away from anyone who needed it and would be more than happy to give the room up if needed. Unfortunately most of the King rooms at Disney are handicapped.

Just booked pop in Aug for free dining. Girls only trip!! Have to go and start my countdown!!!! Celebrating my birthday while I'm down there.!!!!

I always request a king sized bed with lake or courtyard view. We travel in January during the off season when WDW is least crowded. The last time we were given a handicapped room which included a fridge. (I called to make sure I wouldn't be charged for it and was assured it was installed in the handicapped rooms.) I enjoyed the handicapped shower since I have a walk in shower at home. I do agree that the room gets rather wet after one of my long showers but I've always found it managable with a dry towel as a floor mat.
