Can someone link me to pictures and a map of Pop Century.

We've just decided to stay there for our first 2 nights :).

Edited to add: Also, is it worth the extra money for a preferred building, and which buildings are considered preferred?

Thanks,

Teresa

I have a map of PC. However, I do not have a scanner. Oops!

As for building location... if I were at the Front Desk, I'd recommend the 60's buildings, which are considered preferred.

However, Pop Century is laid out fairly well, and all buildings are fairly close to Classic Hall. I'd personally recommend asking for a decade that you feel that you associate with the best.

Wow great pictures!!!!!!

How many days to disney?????

Tyler I'm a child of the 80's/90's (graduated highschool in 1992) - how close are these buildings from bus, lobby, pool etc.

From aerial pictures, I thought these building would be far. However, they are not! On our scavenger hunt, we went from the 80's pool area to the Bus Stops. It surprised me at how close they really ended up being. After exploring them, the 80s/90s section is definetly my favorite of them.

Thanks Tyler! I'll save my money then and request the 80's decade!

Tyler,
What is the arcade like? With there be 'old' video games (like Pac Man)? Is it a large arcade. One of my daughters LOVES arcades and we always have to make time to go.
Thanks!

I keep meaning to check that out. They're allowing us free play after 4pm. Of course, I get out at 5:30, and I'm always in such a hurry to get home, that I forget to go check out the Arcade. I will try and check it out next week. :)

I sure hope there will be classic video games. I know DisneyQuest has a TON of early 80's games, so it'd be easy to aquire them.

I stumbled across this site the other day and am having a LOT of fun with it...
local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=nqrj9d863zsn&style=o&lvl=1&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=5221607

when you enter the above link, you see the Generation Gap Bridge. Drag the map, and you can view the entire resort, zoom, and even change angles. I've found it to be a GREAT site for figuring out where to stay... and how far parking, buses and dining are.

In my personal opinion, it is not worth the extra $$$ to pay for preferred at Pop Century because none of the buildings are really that far from the main area and pool.:thumbsup2

boy - I didn't realize this was from 2003 !!!!

LOL, I'm the OP and think of my confusion when I saw this thread this morning!

I wonder how it was dug up?!

Well, we did end up staying there...3 1/2 years ago!!! We enjoyed it very much but with our dd (then 3 yrs old) it would have been worth the extra for the preferred area (which at that time was only in the 60's area!). It was quite the walk from the building we were in.
