We took advantage of the free dining plan from 9/25 - 10-1 and stayed at Pop. In the past we had stayed at Wilderness Cabins and CBR. After reading everyone elses opinion of POP we decided to stay anyway :goodvibes ! We are not hard to please and don't spend much time in our room anyway.

Check in on 9-25 around 4:30 pm went very smoothly and took only a few minutes even though there was six of us in two rooms . We had asked for and received adjoining rooms , which were inthe 50s section( rooms 2470 ,71).

It was a little walk to reach our building but we figured we would need the exercise after using the dining plan :rotfl: .

As soon as we opened the door we smelled cigarette smoke even though the rooms were nonsmoking, I honestly don't understand why people are so inconsiderate! But not being ones to complain, we ignored it because we didn't plan on being in the room much .

The room didn't seem all that small to us considering it is a value resort - we didn't expect posh accomodations. Our room was clean- not **** and span- ( I'm a clean freak) .

The temperature was easy to adjust in the room and we never had a problem with being hot or cold. The beds were perfectly comfortable to us - maybe we were too exhausted to notice otherwise !

As far as mousekeeping goes, I was not impressed. We left $6 every day as a tip for both rooms. If we asked for extra towels we were given them. I had to ask for plastic cups to be replaced after we used them all- there were 6 upon check in and they were gone the second day and not replaced until I asked.

When we checked in, inside the tub was someone elses body hair :earseek: which I cleaned out because I'm a neat freak! Our tub and toilet were not cleaned the entire week we stayed however our sink and table were wiped off. Our sheets were not changed the entire week. Even though it isn't that important to us, we did not receive towel animals ( I figured you might be curious).

The food court was usually jam packed but it didn't matter too much to us because we used our food credit at the parks. The last day we had extra credits and wanted to use them for breakfast in the food court. We just don't eat as much as the dining plan allowed so we just got patries and a drink for our counter service meal. We explained as we checked out that we knew we weren't getting all the food we could but that this was all we wanted. She was very miffed and told us she couldn't check us out like that. After some snide remarks she said she would have to ring us up for a pancake meal to go along with the patries and drinks but that we would have to pay for the grapefruit that our son wanted because it was extra - even though we didn't get the stupid pancake meal she was ringing up! WHATEVER , we aren't ones to complain. She obviously didn't enjoy her job that day.

The bus stop was always crowded and often we had to stand but we never really had to wait long. The longest we waited was coming back from MK on Spectro and Wishes night for about 15 minutes.

Overall there was nothing blatently horrible about POP but then agian there was nothing to make me want to go back. Unless there is another great deal - like the free dining was- we will wait to go back when we can stay in a moderate.

Thanks for the review! We are staying at Pop 12/3-12/10 and our expectations are the same as yours and we don't complain much. Now we know what to expect.

I tend not complain much either -- but if my room was not cleaned well, that I think I would complain about!

I would have complained if my room was not cleaned well! Also, I would have told them about the smoke smell--maybe they could have at least tried to cover the smell up, if not move you to a different room.

As far as the rest, I've stayed at Pop 3 times and like it a lot. For some reason I like it better than the moderates, except for the pools. Can't say I like it better than the deluxes. :teeth: There is something about the theming that seems so Disney to me and I really enjoy walking around the property.
