Pop Century?? Golf???

Has anyone ever stayed at Pop Century and golfed on Disney property??

My husband is wanting to golf, but we won't have a car! I noticed that "select" resorts will give you free taxi service to the golf courses, which I am sure Pop isn't one, but does anyone know if there is a way to get to the courses?

Please Help!!! I am trying to get him to be excited about the trip!!

Also, I am from a small town,(no taxi's here) if we call for a taxi, does it cost alot?!

I just reserved my tee time on the Magnolia Course and I am staying Pop Century also.

The lady told me that the night before I leave for the course, I should inform the Front desk and they will give me a voucher for the taxi.

I am playing in late March, dont recall off hand which exact date.

We stayed at the POP last April, and my boyfriend went and played golf at the Oak Trail course one morning. He just called the front desk, and they got a taxi for him, and provided a voucher.

Did the same when he was leaving, I think the pro shop made the call for him.

Tip for the driver is included in the voucher, but my boyfriend gave the guy some money anyway.

We stayed at Pop May 04. DH played golf 2 days of our stay. The taxi service is the same as the other resorts with the exception of you tell your CM at check in rather than go to a different desk like at the moderates. It was no problem at all. He just told them what time his tee time was and which course. Then you just go to the front desk at your scheduled time to let them know you are there. That is all there was to it! Hope he has fun!

As someone who did this on a regular basis, here's the deal with the taxi service:

Disney will provide you with complimentary taxi service from any Disney resort to the golf course as long as you already have scheduled a tee time. You do not need to call in advance to use this service. Simply show up at the Porte Cochere (outside area by the main lobby where Luggage Assistance/Bell Services is). Find a cast member, and let them know which golf course you need to go to. They will get the taxi for you, and take care of the voucher for you.

If you are leaving prior to Luggage Assistance opening, you can go to the front desk. However, once Luggage Assistance is open, Front Desk will not have the vouchers.

You cannot get a voucher in advance. Because they are logged with cab number and driver info, it must be done when you are ready to go. It only takes a minute.

The return voucher is provided at the golf course.

Nice Point Tyler. My DH always has a very early tee time. Usually the first for the day. This is why he has always just told the front desk the night before and they tell him what time to be out front and handle it from there. We have never had a problem.
