Pop Century Food Court???

Last week, breakfast crowds from 8am-10am were terrible. When we left the ship, we arrived at Pop Century around 9:30. It was definitely a mad house. However, the other two mornings we were down there around 7:30, and it wasn't as bad.

Thank you all very much for your detailed replies!!! I can't wait to go... There seem to be so many of us going at the same time we should meet up by the pool or food court!!! LOL

Yes they got rid of them awhile ago probably 2008. They didn't have them when I was there December 2008. :sad1::sad2:

Oh, the horror!! I was last at POP in August of '08, and the machines were most definitely there then. I went with my godson that year, and he just mentioned today getting the slushies at POP. :sad2:

We like the food at the POP food court. I've had the chicken Penne alfredo, and it was OK. I've also sampled the double cheeseburger, and it was no diffferent than from a park.

My wife tried the chili chese hot dog and it was filling but was nothing spectacular, and she tried the cheesesteak wrap. Being cheesesteak afficinados (aka snobs ;) )from the philly area, she was unimpressed.

I don't mean to give a wrong impression. It was good food. JUst like from inside the parks, for what we ordered.

The slushy machines were there over our christmas 2008/2009 trip. I'm kinda saddened to hear that they are gone.

Another thing I've heard is that breakfast service is maddening due to the crowds. Is it truly that bad and when is the best time to go? We'll be staying in December for our first time.

They say it's best to go for breakfast before 8 or after 9:30-10ish in order to avoid the worst of the crowds. If those wouldn't be good times for you to eat breakfast (if it's too early or late for your liking), I'd suggest possibly keeping some breakfast items in your room. Another thing that can help if you want a hot breakfast is buying food and then taking it back to your room to eat it; you'll still have lines to order your food and pay for it, but you won't have to worry about trying to find a table, dealing with unruly people, etc.

No slush machine I cant believe it! I love POP for the food court and slush:scared1:

I will also be there Aug 15-25 :yay:

And 2 thumbs way WAY up :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for the Greek salad there as well. Huge portion, very good..

I also second the compliments on the turkey ciabatta. I had it with the pasta salad and tea, and it was filling and delicious.

We will be there at the same time, 16-20, on the free QSDP as well.

As PPs have mentioned, the parm chicken is awesome. I usually get it with the salad instead of the pasta. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the chili cheese dog. The chili is plasticy. I would avoid the entire burger/hot dog/chicken finger line if you can. There are so many other options that are WAY better.

The chicken quesadilla there is very good - nice and fresh w/ tasty sides of rice and beans. :thumbsup2

We had this very late in the evening (maybe 11:00 or 10:30) when we arrived, it was a nice surprise that it was so fresh even late night.

My DH and I did not really like anything we had there back in 2007. The lo mein was very, very greasy and flavorless (literally tasted like NOTHING but had a greasy mouth-feel), the calzone was too garlicy, and the burger and fries was just standard issue. Oh, we did like the sundae we got on night, and the cocktail I got at the bar one evening.

My parents were less than impressed with the food court back in Feburary as well. They tried eating there 1 evening or a late dinner and ended up throwing out most of the food they bought, and tried another morning at 7 or 7:30 am and said their breakfast tasted old/stale, like it had been sitting around a long, long time. After 2 bad experiences, they didn't bother going back except for what passes as coffee.

As you can tell we really loved breakfast at POP. :)

We ate some other meals there too and had the pizza one night. All were fine.

Have a great trip!

I know this thread hasnt had replies in awhile, but I thought I would try to get a reply, those pictures of the food that say snack/dessert options, does that mean I can pick anything I want and it can be considered a snack credit or a dessert with a meal for a quick service credit? I always see people with meals and those tiny carrot cake or brownie cups as dessert options. but in the pictures it looks like I can have anything as a dessert including the cheesecake or muffins, cookies, milkshake, fruit cup, etc?

I'm staying at Pop the first week of december and I have the free quick service dining.

Yes you can have all those options as dessert, you can even have an ice cream sundae they will just stamp your receipt and you just go back to get it:goodvibes

DH and I went there and used a QS credit last June. It was very good. He had the Salmon or halibut (I don't remember which) sandwich. I had the chicken alfredo pasta. It was wonderful and huge. I didn't even have room for the ice cream sundae which had 2 or 3 scoops of ice cream, hot fudge and about a half can of whipped cream on top. I think DH had a cherry on top of his. I don't eat them so I don't remember. The ice cream sundae is the best dessert they have. It seems to me, we also could have gotten a milk shake for dessert also. I would definately go back even without the dining plan.

The Pop Food Court was one of the few places my kids would eat when we were there in the fall :) The last night we were there we ate in food court and all one of my dd's wanted was fries, we were on vacat so I let her. The cashier was nice enough to ring it up as a snack instead of a QS credit.

The morning we left we had breakfast there and my dh and I split it. We will most likly stay there again next May.
