In August I will be staying at the Pop Century and was wondering if the food court there was any good... I will be using the free dining option and wondered if it was worth using a QS there. Last year we were very disappointed with the food court at the All Star Sports. Any information given would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!!

100% worth it! They have a great selection. My
DS and DBF have been talking about it since we left and can't wait to eat there again in August as well. They have some loaded nachos that even if we weren't staying there, I'm sure my DBF would make us go just so he could have them. One of my favorites was the shrimp lo mein.

THANKS!!!!! Now I am even more excited about staying at the Pop!!! I will be there from 8/15-8/22.

We will be there at the same time. 8/15-8/20. Definitely worth using the dining plan. My DD18 got the Parmesan Crusted chicken and loved it, and the dessert was an ice cream sundae that was huge... We shared the sundae between three people.

We mostly ate there for breakfast, but it was good.

You have to get the tye dye cheesecake!! OMG, its amazing!! :thumbsup2

6 years ago we went to Disney World for the first time with our girls. We stayed at POP. We loved everything about it especially the food court. We became DVC members 2 years ago (we go every other year). One of our girls asked if we could stay at POP this time.
I think we will stop by for lunch, love the food court.

I love the POP food court ! I am just sad they got rid of the slushy machine for the refillable mugs :sad2:

We'll be there right around the same time. :sunny:

Love the food court at Pop. The parmesan-crusted chicken is amazing; it comes with a fresh baked breadstick and you can choose to have it with either pasta or a salad. The veggie calzone is very good, but be forewarned the "veggie" is mainly spinach. It tastes great, but you have to be a spinach lover to enjoy it.

Like a PP mentioned, the shrimp lo mein is really good. We never did try the "mom's night out" special, but based on the quality of the other food they serve, I bet it would be great.

On the dining plan, you get a dessert with any CS credit. If you want ice cream, decide what you'll order in terms of either a sundae or milk shake, then ask the cashier to give you a receipt to come back later. The cashier will stamp your receipt so that you have 90 minutes to return and order your ice cream. Sundaes come with 3 scoops of ice cream in any combination of flavors and as many (or few) toppings as you want.

I hope you have a magical trip. :wizard:

I absolutely loved the shrimp lo mein and everything else I ate there. I'm not really a fan of breakfast food, so I can't comment on that (other than the morning my sister and I had Rice Krispie treats for breakfast, which was epic), but all their lunch/dinner options that we tried were fantastic. Also, the tie dye cheesecake is amazing- it's even more vividly coloured than most photos show, and it has a layer of red velvet cake as the crust. (Just to forewarn you, there may be a bright green surprise later on after you eat it. My sister and I thought that was hilarious, but some people might be freaked out if they're not expecting it.) Overall, the Pop Century food court was great, much better than we were expecting!

As everyone has said the food is really good there! There is a pretty good variety, the chicken parmesan is a favorite, especially the breaksticks :) We will probably have the QS dining plan and will be eating there frequently!

There will be quite a few of us there at the same time! :goodvibes We are returning for our third visit 8/18-8/26/

In Dec we had a LOT of meals at the food court (DS6 was sick for 1/2 the trip.). We really enjoyed just about everything.

Some of the things we had and our thoughts:

Chicken Mediterranean Flatbread - loved it.
Chicken Caesar Salad - it was ok...kind of soggy.
Turkey Ciabatta - loved it (huge!).
Asian Chicken Salad - DH thought it was good.

Bacon Double Cheeseburger - it is what it is. ;)
Cheesesteak Wrap - sort of cold and greasy (both times).

Meatball Sub with Salad - nasty. ick.
Penne Pasta with Meatball - nasty again. cold with terrible *sauce*

Beef and Broccoli - DH liked this a lot.
Nachos Supreme - DH had these a couple of times (much to my dismay:rolleyes1)

All the breakfast items were very good as well as a great variety of snack options. As for the infamous Tie-dyed cheesecake...DS thought it was ok, DD liked it, DH loved it, I hated it. :confused3

I love the pop food court!
My favourite items included the Chicken Penne alfredo, the breakfast pizza (mm better than the character buffet ones), the cheeseburger (its a burger I love all burgers I may be bias) the ice cream sundaes (worth 1 snack credit and they are HUGE!), the milkshakes ( a snack credit again) all the flatbreads and the mom's night out chicken dinner.

Alot of people like the tye dye cheesecake and I must say I love it too...but it makes your tongue fun colours and um otherthings.
I thought I'd leave you some photos of the food from 2008 ive seen current photos it looks similar

I had salmon with rice and green beans for dinner one night--they even put a cover on it so I could take it back to my room to eat. It was really good, probably about as good as the salmon I had at 50's prime time cafe later that week.

We stay at POP and love the food court.

Everything PP's have mentioned are great. The sundae thing is so terrific, being able to return to get dessert...priceless!!

I also wanted to tell you everynight during the week they have what is called "mom's night out" dinners. Homemade fried chicken, meatloaf or turkey, all served "tv dinner" style. So cute and good too. Oh, it is just one meat per night, each night is a different one of the above. But very worth while!

Enjoy, POP has the best feel, the best everything for a Disney hotel!

We love the Pop food court. Defnitely worth the QS credits.

Only bad part is the removal of the slushie machines. They were gone for our last trip in 8/09.

We loved the Beef and Bleu sandwich. It is HUGE- two people could share it. I'm a big fan of blue cheese burgers, so I had to try it. Best thing that I ate all day!

Another thing I've heard is that breakfast service is maddening due to the crowds. Is it truly that bad and when is the best time to go? We'll be staying in December for our first time.
