Hubby and I are staying at the Pop Century for the first time in May. I've looked, but can't find any info on the Food Court Coffee. We were planning to get refillable mugs - for the frozen coke and COFFEE!

Now, hubby and I are not coffee snobs, but we do like good coffee. Normally drink flavored coffees, but love just good smooth coffee.

Anyway, after all that rambling, do you like the coffee at Pop Century or should I figure out some other way to get my coffee fix? :surfweb:

Thanks for any help you can give me! :goodvibes

We are also there in May & will be bringing our own coffee maker & coffee, even though we're still buying the refillable mugs. Their coffee is the worst I've ever had anywhere! Seriously, it's awful. I usually brew Dunkin Donuts at home, but because it's easier to do the filter packs, I'm buying Maxwell House Filter Packs. It's a huge step up from the Nescafe sludge they serve.

Didn't like their coffee either but drank it. I would suggest brewing your own if you don't mind bringing all the extra stuff to do it.

I agree too, their coffee is awful. It didn't matter how much creamer and sugar, it still tasted terrible. However, we also had refillable mugs, and for our coffee we did a mix of half coffee and half hot cocoa. We also added extra cream and sugar, and it was really pretty good. You may want to try that, at least it worked for us. :thumbsup2

The coffee is not memorable... I didn't find it to be swill water or anything but if you like "good" coffee then bring a little coffee maker with you and your own coffee stash... or find another plan for your java. Or stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Thanks everybody, I appreciate the honest answers! :rotfl:

Looks like hubby and I will have to make other coffee plans! :thumbsup2

Anybody ever have the coffee at the BoardWalk Bakery? Is it the same as the Pop Resort? We've had that before and while it's not the greatest coffee - it's ok.

I also love the hot chocolate idea! Thanks. As far as I'm concerned anytime you add chocolate to anything you've got a winner!

I think you will be fine.... I am still here in FL. Checked out of POP yesterday. My sister is a huge coffee drinker... always has one in her hands. She must of went though 15-20 cups in the 2 nights we stayed there adn she never complained.

That's exactly what we did! I had to have diet Pepsi a few mornings for the caffeine b/c the coffee is just :scared: ! (We brought our own Pepsi products.)

I agree, the coffee was not the best I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst either. I made a trip to Wal-mart for snacks, breakfast food, etc. and bought a bottle of flavored creamer - it made a huge difference! I have to have my coffee first thing, so I would head down to the food court and fill our mugs and bring them back to the room to drink while I got ready so adding the creamer wasn't a big deal (sorry if any of you guys had to see me in my pj's and bed head last Sept... but don't worry, I'm spreading the joy over at ASMovies next time)
You could just pour some creamer in the mug before you leave the room and put the coffee on top, then be on your merry way if you like to take it with you.

Thanks everybody! I think the idea of hot chocolate or flavored creamers will go a long way to making the coffee at the resort more enjoyable. I thought about bringing a coffee pot or trying to get in on a frig/coffee pot share, but it's only a 4 day trip.....I think we can make do with the resort coffee for 4 days! :rotfl:

Getting excited about our trip - we leave in 26 days. Also talked hubby today into having breakfast at Kona one morning......so that's at least one day of good coffee!

We got attached to this coffee and miss it down there - any chance we might see on eon site ?

DH isn't a coffee snob, his favorite is Folgers. He did fine with the POP coffee. Said it wasn't the best, but he was happy to have his mug and "free" coffee for our week's stay!

We bring our own pepsi products too! My DH is a serious Diet Mt.Dew drinker so we order from GG along with my Dr. Pepper this next time.

I agree about the coffee, it's not just at POP, it's almost everywhere (had it at 1900 Park Fare before I remembered the disboards saying this). Disney has a contract with Nestle and they use the coffee concentrate and add water to it, heat and then that's the final product we get to have the honor of drinking. :scared: When I had the coffee at 1900 Park Fare during breakfast our first day I thought what it wrong with this coffee?!? I do know that there are places to get good coffee in "The World" you just have to know where to look. I know Kona's is one of them, I do believe there are several resturants and places in World Showcase that serves specialty coffee's but couldn't be for sure where they all are, I do know that it's been posted on the boards before so search around the archives and see what you come up with.

Some people like the coffee and some people don't. I drink Maxwell House coffee at home so I am not a coffee snob but I do like good coffee. Our first trip to WDW I took my little travel coffee maker with all the stuff to go with it but I never have since; the coffee at Pop isn't the best in the world but it is OK. If you like flavoured coffee, get some of the creamer before you go and just get a refillable mug. Have a great time!!!

Sorry, not a chance. :sad2:
Well, that is unless you go off site! ;)
But there are places all over that have decent coffee. I think AK has a cart outside the park, I think you might be able to get good coffee in SOME resturants that are contracted but couldn't say for sure which ones. :upsidedow
